3 Easy Halloween Snacks – Fun Recipes For Kids

For many children, Halloween is a favourite holiday because it provides the opportunity to play dress-up and to get a lot of free candy. Halloween is a fun holiday not just for the kids who get to go trick-or-treating, but is also a great holiday for the entire family to celebrate together! These 3 easy Halloween snacks for kids are sure to be a big hit!

It does not matter whether you are young or old, everyone is bound to love these Halloween treat recipes: Zoombie Boogers Popcorn, Spider Cupcakes, and Halloween Trail Mix with Candy Corn!

Homemade Halloween Snacks

Zombie Boogers Popcorn

Your kids will love these Zombie Boogers Popcorn because, you know, the greenish snack resembles boogers! The sticky and sweet green buttery syrup toss over the popcorn is such a delicious treat. This recipe is a great addition to your Halloween snacks and feast table.

Ingredients

  • 10 cups plain popped popcorn
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup corn syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1-2 teaspoons green food colouring

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200°F.
  2. In medium saucepan on medium heat, bring sugar, salt, butter, and corn syrup to a boil while stirring consistently. Cook and stir for another 4 minutes.
  3. Stir in baking soda, and green food colouring. Expect the mixture to foam up and double in size.
  4. Remove from heat.
  5. Place popcorn in large bowl. Pour mixture over popcorn in bowl and toss to coat evenly.
  6. Spread popcorn evenly on a foil-lined baking pan.
  7. Bake 1 hour and stir every 15 minutes.
  8. Cool completely.
  9. Store in airtight container.

You can’t celebrate Halloween without baking Spider Cupcakes! They are super easy to make and are always favourite spooky Halloween desserts for kids.

Ingredients

  • 1 box cupcake mix or homemade cake (choose your favourite flavour)
  • 1 jar vanilla icing
  • Ready to use black icing in a tube

Supplies

  • Plastic spiders (optional)

Instructions

  1. To bake the cupcakes, simply follow the directions on the box of cupcake mix. After they have been baked, allow the cupcakes to cool completely before frosting them.
  2. Spread the vanilla icing on the cake. Once your cupcakes are frosted you can begin to put on the finishing touches which will turn your treats into Halloween spider cupcakes.
  3. Use the ready to use black icing in a tube and make a spider web on the white icing.
  4. Apply a plastic spider on top of icing.
