There is nothing quite like spending an afternoon in the kitchen to make homemade treats for the holidays. With holiday music playing, and all of the good smells taking over the house, it is hard not to get into the spirit of things. A fresh from the oven snowflake cookie helps things too!

This recipe combines two favourites into one delicious package, and they are so easy to design if you have a snowflake cookie cutter. Instead of spending hours decorating your Christmas treats you can put a few simple lines of icing on the cookie to have something beautiful and ready to share!

Brownie Snowflake Sugar Cookies Helpful Tips

  1. I do recommend using unsweetened dark cocoa powder in this recipe because it creates such a wonderful chocolate flavour for this cookie, but if you can’t get that kind, feel free to use your favourite cocoa powder.
  2. This recipe comes together in just about 25 minutes, but before getting started, be sure to prepare to chill the dough for at least an hour. It will be so much easier to work with after a cool resting period. Before decorating these snowflake cookies, allow them to cool for at least 5 minutes so the icing doesn’t melt on the cookie.
