Delicious Margarita Recipes: Classic and Iced

Do you know how to make a good margarita cocktail? It’s so easy and all you need are a few ingredients to make the best recipe. I know you will love these 2 recipes we shared: Classic Margarita and Iced Margarita.

A Margarita is, without doubt, my favourite cocktail, and my drink of choice when drinking at a restaurant. Cocktails do tend to be expensive, and there’s nothing more disappointing when you have that first sip and realize you could have made better at home for half the price. Whilst some get it right, others destroy the most classic of cocktails. Common errors seem to be the use of weak cordial instead of fresh lime juice and the wrong amount of tequila. The best Margaritas are fresh and tangy with a perfect balance of flavour.

Here is what I think makes a good margarita recipe!

What To Serve With A Margarita

If you are looking for some delicious Mexican food to accompany your drinks, you can make:

The Turkey Taco Party Cups as appetizers, followed by Sheet Pan Nachos for the main dish, and for dessert, the Strawberry Margarita Cupcake with Liquor!

The Iced Margarita Recipe

Some find the classic Margarita a bit too strong. For something with a little less kick, you might like to try the Iced Margarita recipe. It is a refreshing drink that combines the elements of the Classic Margarita in a more diluted version.

Iced Margarita Ingredients

  • 2½ measures of silver tequila
  • 1 ¼ measure of Cointreau (triple sec)
  • Juice of 1 fresh lime
  • 1 lime sliced in rings
  • 6 x small scoops of lime sorbet
  • 150ml x cold lemonade
  • crushed ice
  • optional: lime wedge and coarse salt for rimming the glass

How To Make An Iced Margarita

  1. Prepare your glass: If you want to salt the rim of your glass, run a juicy lime wedge around the rim, and dip the rim in coarse Kosher salt. Set aside.
  2. Combine the ingredients: Combine the tequila, Cointreau, and fresh lime juice in a jug or a cocktail shaker. Shake or stir until it is combined and chilled.
  3. Fill two glasses: with a few slices of lime. Split the sorbet between the two glasses and add some ice in each glass. Split the drink into each glass. Top up each glass with a helping of lemonade.
  4. Serve: Garnished with a slice of lime
  5. Enjoy!

This recipe will be enough to serve two drinks.

A Margarita is a great cocktail for pre-dinner drinks and provides the perfect accompaniment to a Mexican feast. You’ll probably adjust the alcohol quantities to suit your taste, but where possible, always try to use freshly squeezed lime juice for that fresh and tangy taste. You can easily create this classic cocktail in your home and find the Margarita mix that is perfect for you.
