Sangria Ice Pops: White Wine and Strawberry Freezies

These sangria ice pops are made with white wine and strawberries for a delicious summer freezies recipe!

It’s no secret. I love a good frozen treat. I’ll freeze anything liquid and I’ll do it using all sorts of molds from spheres to traditional popsicle trays. Sometimes, two great things can come together. That’s frozen treats and amazing cocktails. If you enjoy sangria on a summer afternoon, just think how much more refreshing it is as a freezie! When I decided to make sangria freezies recently, I felt like I made the discovery of the century!

Grown-Up Freezies

Frozen cocktails are nothing new. Usually, you can drink them blended; however, they typically don’t freeze well in the sense that you can make popsicles out of them. That’s where the freezies with alcohol comes in. If you don’t know, a freezie is a sugary frozen treat made by freezing juice in a plastic tube or sleeve. You enjoy it by pushing the flavoured ice out of the tube.

A popular version of the freezie is the Mr. Freeze. Like Band-Aid, Kleenex, or Coke, Otter Pops are the most highly recognized brand among these tubes of icy, almost snow-like refreshments. But what you may not know is you can make homemade sangria ice pops by using the ingredients and supplies in your own house. To start, you just need sleeves or tubes for freezing your strawberry sangria ice pops.

Where do I get Popsicle Sleeves?

Okay, so not everybody has a popsicle sleeve just hanging out in their kitchen cabinets to make sangria ice pops. But they are easy to find! Get some now so you can get plenty of use from them all summer long. The popsicle sleeves I use are from Amazon. They include a silicon funnel to make it easier to pour your mixture of strawberry and white wine into the sleeves. All you have to do to make these frozen sangria pops work is blend it into a smooth mixture, pour it, and wait for it to freeze!
