Espresso Machine not Required for the starbucks iced white chocolate mocha recipe
Espresso is usually made with a machine because it needs pressure. If you do have an espresso machine, then you are all set. Don’t worry, you can make this Starbucks iced mocha coffee without one by using an AeroPress, Moka Pot, or a French Press. If you are an Esspresso or Latte drinker, then you are probably already familiar with these other methods.
Best Coffee for Making Espresso
While you can use any coffee that you have on hand, using regular beans will not give you the perfect shot no matter how good the bean is. Dark roast coffee beans have the richest natural oils, which makes them the right bean to use. If you visit a bulk store, you may be able to find espresso coffee beans. These coffee beans will give you the consistency and flavour you want. Espresso beans hep achieve the rich crema (the light layer that forms on the surface).
Flavouring Coffee
While the easiest way to flavour your coffee is to buy ready-made syrups and sauces like those from Torani; however, you can make your own coffee syrups at home with sugar, extracts, caramel, and chocolate. All you need to do is melt and whisk the ingredients until the mixture thickens and starts to simmer. This syrup can be used for your coffees and even dessert toppings.
