3 Easy Snack Recipes For The Family
It’s always seems to be an issue at our house as to which afternoon snacks to eat. I want my kids to eat healthy nutritious snacks and remind them constantly. When they were teenagers, I can’t say it was any easier as the bars, cookies, and popcorn are well from reach. Even today, I try to imply to eat healthy snacks. I try to have on hand fruits or veggies with a protein or carbohydrates to make sure they will be full until supper time. I thought I would share 3 of my children’s favourite super easy snack recipes.

Snack recipe #1. Rainbow Fruit Kabobs (makes 6)
These Fruit Kabobs are our family’s favourite snack recipe! You can also create your own Snack on a Stick and let your children place their favourite ingredients on a stick.
Ingredients
- 12 blueberries
- 1 kiwi cut in cubes
- 1 slice of pineapple cut in cubes
- 1 orange cut in cubes
- 1 grapefruit cut in cubes
- 6 raspberries
- 6 Wooden skewers (5 to 6 inches)
Direction
Alternate 2 blueberries, 1 kiwi cube, 1 pineapple cube, 1 orange cube, 1 grapefruit cube, and 1 raspberry on a skewer. Serve.

Rainbow Fruit Kabobs
Ingredients
- 12 blueberries
- 1 kiwi cut in cubes

Instructions

Snack recipe #2. Cheese Pizza with veggies on a Flatbread (makes 2)
Super easy recipe to make a pizza! Cut into triangle pieces and serve as a snack.
Ingredients
- 2 NAAN Traditional Plain Flatbreads
- 4-6 tablespoons of tomato sauce
- 1/8 of teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/8 of teaspoon dried basil
- 1/8 of teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 cup Pizza/ Mozzarella cheese shredded
- Veggies of your choice
Direction
For 1 flatbread
- In a small bowl, combine the tomato sauce, oregano, basil, and garlic powder; spread 2-3 tablespoons over each Flatbread.
- Add veggies
- Sprinkle with about 1/2 cup of cheese.
- Bake at 400° for 8-10 minutes or until cheese is melted.
- Cut into quarters and serve your family.

Cheese Pizza on a Flatbread
Ingredients
- 2 NAAN Traditional Plain Flatbreads

It’s not only served while watching the big game, it’s also a fan favourite snack on any day at our house!
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup of Monterey Jack or cheddar Cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup of Sour Cream
- 1/2 cup of cream cheese
- 3 tablespoons of Epicure Nacho Cheese Dip seasoning or other nacho seasoning
- 1 bag of Organic Tortilla Chips
- Optional toppings: Guacamole, tomatoes, black olives, jalapeno, cilantro, etc..
Direction
- In a small bowl (microwaveable dish), blend the ingredients.
- Cook in a microwave at high for 1 minute. Stir and cook at high for 1 more minute.
- Serve on organic tortilla chips
- Add optional toppings

Ingredients
