When you think of Valentine’s Day, you may think of boxed chocolates or candy hearts with little messages on them. If you have kids though, there are so many fun things you can make for them. Heart-shaped pancakes or Rice Krispies pops, cupcakes with heart-shaped sprinkles, and heart-shaped cookies. There are so many little treats. What you may not have thought of was a delicious Cupid Hot Chocolate for Valentine’s Day!
The colder months of the year are definitely known for their yummy hot drinks. Chances are you serve your kids many cups of hot cocoa to help them beat the cold temperatures after playing out in the snow. While those little packets may be a huge hit in your house, homemade cocoa can’t be beat. But, if you want something truly unique for Valentine’s Day, your family is going to flip for this Cupid Hot Chocolate recipe.
White chocolate and strawberry flavour hot chocolate
This recipe is something completely unexpected. Instead of the traditional milk chocolate flavour, this Cupid Hot Cocoa recipe has white chocolate. That’s not all though. It also has the unexpected flavour of strawberry. Your kids will absolutely flip for this strawberry flavoured hot chocolate.
Made with milk, heavy cream, white chocolate, and strawberry syrup, this is a flavour combination your kids will absolutely love. Of course, you can add red food colouring to get the exact pink colour you want. And, topping with marshmallows is always a good idea. If your kids don’t care for marshmallows, you could also do whipped cream and heart-shaped sprinkles.
Start making this treat in early February. It’s one that your kids will be asking for over and over again. This is perfect for a Saturday afternoon treat after the kids come in from playing in the snow. If you’re having some people over, double the recipe and prepare in a slow cooker. Once the chocolate is melted, switch to the warm setting. People can enjoy it all day long.
