Who doesn’t love Rice Krispie treats? The recipe is a classic that families have been making for decades. The simple combination of Rice Krispie cereal, marshmallows, and butter is so good. It’s also so easy to make. It’s something you can whip together on short notice. You can also jazz up the Rice Krispie Pops recipe for the holidays.

If you want something cute to make your kids this Valentine’s Day, these Valentine’s Day Rice Krispie Pops are a real winner. Not only are they easy to make, but they’re fun to make. Your kids will have fun dipping the pops into melted white chocolate and sprinkles.

These would also be a great treat to make for bake sales or a kids’ Valentine’s Day party. You could wrap in sucker bags and then tie with a pretty ribbon. If you’re doing Galentine’s Day, make these along with a few other treats and place them in gift baskets to give to your friends. It’s something inexpensive to do that will bring a smile to their faces.

Another great tip is to use coloured Rice Krispie cereal when making these. You can now find a strawberry flavour that would make this recipe even cuter. You could also use the chocolate flavour, if your kids really like chocolate.

If you want to get even more creative, consider cutting these into heart shapes using a cookie cutter. Insert the stick at the bottom of the hearts and then dip in chocolate. You can make these as big or small as you like.

There are so many ways to make Valentine’s Day special. You don’t have to spend a lot of money. Spending time in the kitchen with your kids will create memories that last a lifetime.

Makes 30-40 pops

Ingredients

  • 6 cups Rice Krispie cereal
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 4 cups mini marshmallows
  • 1 – 225 g bag of white chocolate chips
  • 1 bottle of Valentine’s sprinkles
  • 40 lollipop sticks

Directions

1.Spray a 9 x 13 inch pan with cooking spray.

2. In a large pot, melt butter on medium heat.

3. Add marshmallows and stir frequently until melted.

4. Remove from heat and mix in Rice Krispie cereal.

5. Pour cereal mix into 9 x 13 pan.

6. Using a piece of parchment paper over the top, push mixture into the pan.

7. Refrigerate the pan for about an hour.

8. Cut Rice Krispie bars into small 1 inch squares.

10. Add a lollipop stick to each.

11. Melt chocolate on 30 second intervals in the microwave, stirring well in between.

12. Dip Rice Krispie pops into the melted chocolate, add sprinkles, and place onto parchment paper.

13. Place the pops in the refrigerator for about an hour to set.

    These would be great to make for anytime of year I think. It would be easy to change up the decorations for other holidays like Easter too.
