Chicken wing tips

It’s interesting to note that when you order chicken wings at a restaurant, you typically aren’t served the entire wing. You get the “drumette” and the “flat.” But, you don’t get the “tip,” which (obviously) is a very end of the wing. Restaurants use the tips for making stock, instead of serving them.

The tip is actually the portion of the chicken wing that scads of people like the best. They’re crunchy and chewy and pretty darn yummy. So, when making any homemade chicken wings recipe, keep this bit of cooking trivia in mind.

Recipe Tips

Feel free to add more green onion if the flavour is something your family enjoys. It’s a good way to “kick up” the heat element a bit without going overboard. You might also get really creative and small-dice a red pepper, in the event you’re serving this dish at Christmas time.

If sweetened pineapple juice is all you have on hand, I suggest adding a bit less honey. Again, it’s all a matter of preference and how sticky and sweet you want your honey grilled wings. For a bit of a taste-twist consider using half pineapple juice and half orange juice. YUM!
