No one wants salmonella poisoning, especially on Valentine’s Day. Thankfully, there’s a way to enjoy cookie dough without the risk. These heart cookie dough truffles are an excellent treat to make for that special someone that loves cookie dough.

Not only are these truffles shaped like a heart, but they are drenched in dark chocolate. It’s a flavour combination that is truly rich and decadent. You’ll definitely not be able to sit down and eat a lot of these at once.

Anyone that loves chocolate and cookie dough is going to flip for these. If you’re having a girls’ night in around Valentine’s Day, these would be a big hit. You could also make these for a bake sale and watch them sell out faster than anything else. People simple can’t resist truffles, especially when cookie dough is involved.

If you’re giving these as a gift, consider placing them in a heart-shaped box along with some colourful tissue paper. This will make the gift just as beautiful as something purchased from a fancy chocolate shop. You can find everything you need to turn this into an expensive-looking gift at your local dollar store.

How To Modify The Valentine’s Day Truffles Recipe

You can also be really creative with this recipe. Instead of chocolate chips on the inside, you could use peanut butter chips or any other flavour. You could also cover these in any type of melted chocolate. If your significant other isn’t a fan of dark chocolate, cover them in milk chocolate or even white. There is so much room for creative changes with this recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted sweet cream butter, softened
  • 1/4 tsp of salt
  • 2 tbsp whole milk
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla
  • 10 tbsp flour 
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 bag of dark chocolate melting wafers

Material Needed

Heart Cookie Dough Truffles Recipe
  1. Using a double boiler, melt the chocolate and mix until smooth.
  2. Pour the chocolate into the silicone mold.
  3. Carefully flip the mold over so that the chocolate can fall back into the pot. This will leave you with a chocolate shell.
  4. Set aside.
  5. Using a standing mixer, combine the brown sugar, butter, salt and vanilla and mix until combined.
  6. Mix in your milk.
  7. Gradually mix in the flour and chocolate chips.
  8. Scoop about 1 tablespoon of the cookie dough into your hands and lightly press down into the chocolate molds.
  9. Cover the top of the molds with a layer of chocolate.
  10. Place into the fridge for overnight.
  11. Remelt the chocolate and place into the piping bag.
  12. Carefully remove the chocolate hearts from the molds and place onto a cookie sheet.
  13. Cut the tip off the piping bag and drizzle the chocolate onto the hearts.
  14. Let hearts harden for 20 minutes.
  15. Enjoy!
