Easy Chicken Alfredo Bacon Penne Pasta Recipe

Pasta dishes are typically easy to throw together, which makes them the perfect choice for dinner after a hectic day. This recipe for Chicken Alfredo Bacon Penne Pasta is no exception. Chances are you already have all of the necessary ingredients to make it. It’s actually National Fettuccine Alfredo Day today on February 7th, so this is my modified version of it with penne.

Creative Pasta Recipe

This is one of those pasta recipes where you can get creative, if you feel like it. There are lots of possibilities, depending on your tastes. For example, if you love bacon add more than five strips. If you’re not that fond of frozen peas, why not substitute frozen broccoli instead?

Pasta Varieties

Let’s talk about pasta for a minute. Your favourite grocery store probably carries more than a few varieties. So, switch out the penne for something else, to jazz things up a bit. My only suggestion is to stick with a hollow noodle so that the Alfredo sauce will seep into the inside of each one.

Jarred Or Homemade Alfredo Sauce

Of course, jarred sauce is totally acceptable for this dish. However, you might be surprised how easy it is to make homemade Alfredo sauce. It only takes a few basic ingredients and just a few minutes to prepare. I can almost guarantee you’ll like it better than any commercially available brand you’ve tried.

Prepare the Casserole and Bake It

If you run across a great deal on chicken breasts, why not purchase in bulk to save money? You can then bake them, shred them and freeze to use in a variety of ways… including this recipe.

You may want to prepare this as directed and then bake it. Why take the extra time? Baked casseroles just seem “more comforting” for some reason, don’t you think? Plus, you can always add extra cheese on top, a few minutes before taking it out of the oven. You end up with a nice layer of gooey, somewhat crispy cheese. What could be better than that?
