National Truffle Day is celebrated on May 2nd. The chocolate truffle is a confection made from chocolate ganache center coated in chocolate, icing, and cocoa powder.  The truffle may be filled with melted chocolate, caramel, cream, nuts, fruit, nougat, fudge, toffee, mint, marshmallow or liqueur. All right!!! Every day should be truffle day! I would take any one of those listed above. I wouldn’t discriminate. I’m rather open like that. The one thing that bothers me about truffles is that they share the same name with that luxury fungal ingredient at the base of trees found by pigs. I am not a fan, there!
