What is Strawberry Crunch Cake
Strawberry crunch cake is a delicious dessert that usually consists of layers of sponge cake or angel food cake, strawberries, and a crunchy topping.
A crunch cake is layered starting with a bottom layer of cake and then adding a creamy layer of frosting and strawberries between the cake layers. The filling can be made of whipped cram, cream cheese or some sort of frosting.
Keep in mind that this is just one variations of a strawberry crunch cake. The recipe below is another way of creating this dessert.
Cheesecake Cake or Pie
A Cheesecake cake typically combines the flavours and elements of a cheesecake in a traditional cake form. You can add the filling between layers or swirl it into the cake batter.
A Pie typically combines the elements of both cheesecake and pie. It features a cheesecake like filling instead of a traditional pie filling. The pie crusts can be either a flakey pie crust or a graham cracker crust.
Cream Cheese in Cake Recipe
Adding cream cheese in a cake is a great way to add some extra moisture and a nice rich tangy flavour. There are a few ways you can add cream cheese to your cake recipes. You can add a cream cheese swirl to the batter, a frosting or filling or even combined in the cake batter.
If you are adding cream cheese to any dessert, it should be at room temperature before starting.

Cake Directions
Using another large bowl, beat together the cake mix, water, oil and eggs with a mixer.
Divide the strawberry batter in half and spread the bottom layer evenly. Using a large spoon, drop dollops of the cheesecake mixture on top of the strawberry cake layer.
Scoop more strawberry cake batter on top and try to spread evenly.
Drop more dollops of cheesecake batter on top and place the springform pan into a 12 in deep baking dish.
Fill baking dish with hot water about half way up the springform sides. Place into the oven and bake for 25-35 minutes. Remove the Strawberry Crunch Cheesecake Cake onto a wire rack to cool down until completely cooled. Once cooled, place into the refrigerator overnight.
Cream Cheese Frosting Directions
Using a medium mixing bowl, beat together the butter and cream cheese with a mixer.
Gradually beat in the powdered sugar until combined and smooth, then beat in the vanilla and heavy whipping cream. Add in the milk and extract to the cream cheese mixture.
Run a knife around the edge to loosen it from the springform pan. Frost entire cake in a very thin layer with the cream cheese frosting. Once you have a thin coat of frosting on the cake, coat entire cheesecake cake using the strawberry shortcake crumble toppings.
Recipe Note: If you can’t find a strawberry cake mix box, you can make an easy strawberry cake. Replace the strawberry cake mix with a white cake mix, and also add 1 cup of strawberry purée. To make the purée, simply place some strawberries in a food processor or blender. Puree the berries until smooth, approximately 1 to 2 minutes. Then, add 1 cup of the strawberry purée to the cake mix.
