List of Supplies

  1. Green Coloured craft papers (different shades)
  2. Twine or string
  3. Craft glue
  4. Pencil
  5. Scissors
  6. Shamrock garland template

How to make a garland

Step 1

Select different shades of green coloured craft papers. Print and cut out the shamrock patterns from the template sheet. The printable template includes several different sizes, so you can select any size you want or you can also mix different sizes for the 4 leaf clover garland. Trace and cut out the shamrock patterns from the selected craft papers.

Step 2

Take a shamrock paper cutout and fold it into half (symmetrically). One by one, fold the rest of the shamrock cutouts into half. For each 3D shamrock pattern, we used 3 shamrock cutouts: 2 half folded and 1 plain cutout.

Step 3

Take 2 half folded shamrock cutouts and 1 plain shamrock cutout. Glue a half folded shamrock on any one side of the plain shamrock cutout.

Step 4

Glue the other half folded shamrock cutout on the other side of the plain shamrock cutout to complete the 3D shamrock pattern.

Step 5

Make as many 3D shamrock patterns as you need to make the garland. Take a string or twine and cut out some small pieces of papers (preferably square).

Step 6

Apply glue on the small square paper cutouts. Placing the string on the stem part of a 3D shamrock pattern, attach the glued paper over the twine to attach the shamrock, and twine together.

Step 7

Similarly, attach the rest of the 3d shamrock patterns to the twine to make the shamrock garland. This is the backside of the garland.

Step 8

When you are done attaching enough 3D shamrock to make a garland, flip the four leaf clover craft to the right side and hang it on a wall.

  1. As St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner, I would love to make these garlands with my grandchildren. Even though we only have a wee bit of Irish blood running through our veins, I still choose to celebrate that fact.
