Disney Cruise Ships

Disney Cruise Line Fleet consists of 5 ships: Disney Dream, Disney Wonder, Disney Magic, Disney Fantasy, and Disney Wish. The Disney Wish is the newest ship and features all the latest technology and a waterslide that goes out over the ocean from the top deck. Disney Cruise Line features voyages to Alaska and the Pacific Coast, Bahamas, Disney’s Castaway Cay and Caribbean, Europe, Mexican Riviera, Panama Canal, and Transatlantic. Packages and specials are always available on the Disney Cruise Line website.

Disney Cruise Line Rooms

You can expect optimum cleanliness, comfort, and personal service from your stateroom onboard a Disney Cruise Ship. Staterooms range from deluxe, with a private sheltered veranda, to interior staterooms with virtual portholes. Each stateroom has a personal steward who is assigned to answer questions, assist in any way, and tidies the room throughout the day. They also like to display their artistic talent, so you may have a present waiting for you on your bed when you return to your room in the evening.

The Disney Cruise bathrooms have spa quality toiletries waiting for you. Staterooms are equipped with cable televisions, and have special Disney channels available, including a nautical channel that shows you a view from the bridge. Safety is a priority on Disney Cruise Line, and the crew prepares everyone on board with a practice emergency drill within the first few hours of boarding.

Disney Cruise Dining

All Disney cruises feature rotational dining on the ship, allowing guests a new dining experience every day. The restaurants onboard are world class and each has their own unique theme. Exclusive adult dining is also available for those who wish a private evening out for two. A team of Disney dining servers is assigned to you when you board the ship, and they will be your servers throughout your voyage.

Meals and desserts are inclusive in the cruise packages, and many choices of fine dishes are available. If you cannot make up your mind, you can order them all! Snack stations are available on several decks for those who wish a lighter fare, or want to snack between meals.

Disney Cruise Activities

A Disney cruise is a great way to experience the fun of a Disney resort and the excitement of a cruise in one go. If you’ve never been on a cruise, you might worry about being bored, or worry about what you will do to keep you and the kids occupied the whole time. The good news is there is plenty to do on a cruise, especially a Disney cruise, and you certainly won’t be disappointed.

You will never run out of onboard activities to do on a Disney Cruise. Disney character appearances are frequently available for the children, photo opportunities, various boutiques for shopping, and a spacious Disney Theatre for special Broadway presentations or featured Disney Movies. Lounges, a spa, several pools, shuffleboard, and ping pong are staple activities. There are special activities available at certain times such as learning how to fold towels into animal shapes, bingo, scrapbooking, and karaoke.

Different nights have different themes and there is always a deck party going on somewhere on board, usually with fireworks. Pirate night is a fun night, and is celebrated with a huge buffet, fireworks, dancing, and major excitement. There is a teen club area, and kid’s club areas that offer supervised fun filled days of adventure, and socializing.

Here are the best activities to do on a Disney Cruise:

  1. Pirates League – For girls and boys over age three, this takes place on Pirate Night. The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is transformed into the Pirate League and you can become a pirate. Just in time to enjoy Pirate Night – another must for a Disney Cruise. It happens one night on all Disney cruises to the Caribbean and has costumes, shows and even fireworks.
  2. Sail Away Party – This will be one of the first events on the Disney Cruise and it’s well worth attending. In front of the Funnel Vision screen on the pool deck you can see a welcome show from Mickey and friends.
  3. Midship Detective Agency – Here’s a fun one for the whole family. The Detective Agency is run by Mickey, Donald and Goofy but they need your help in solving a case. There are three different cases (with varying difficulties) for you to solve. When you register your badge, you can use a map to find the interactive paintings across the cruise ship.
  4. Character Meet and Greets – It just wouldn’t be Disney without the opportunity to meet your favourite characters. There will be characters all over the cruise ship and they will wander around throughout the cruise. You can also look for the regular meet and greets, which happen on the cruise ship much like they do in the parks. If you want to have a chance to meet your favourite characters, just find out when and where they will be for a meet and greet and photo opportunities.

Disney ports of call

The Disney Cruise Line sails into several ports of call, and you can spend the day exploring many exotic areas of the world. One of Disney’s regular ports of call is their own private island called Castaway Cay, located in the Bahamas. Castaway Cay offers a white sand beach, snorkeling, kayaking, and many other water sports, along with native boutiques and food. Disney’s schedules allow ample time to sample native culture before embarking once more. Some Disney excursions need to be booked ahead of schedule, so it is best to have your whole cruise planned out.
