The Size of Your Heart

You have complete creative control over how big or how little to make these hand sewed felt decorative hearts. You can do a lot with these felt heart plush ornaments depending on the scale you decide to use. Small hearts make lovely ornaments and larger hearts make terrific accent pillows. Make a single plush heart or arrange them in clusters. It all starts with what size heart you want to begin with and how you decide to use the plush hearts you craft using the supplies and techniques below.

Decorative Uses of Heart Plush Ornaments

Typically, when we think of an ornament, our mind goes straight to Christmas. We think about the Christmas tree and how we’d like to decorate it. These homemade felt heart plush ornaments can be used as Christmas tree decoration, but the iconic Valentine’s Day symbol is not merely meant to adorn a fir tree each December. Instead, use it year-round, or as a way to spruce up your home (no pun intended) once the tree is tossed out. These heart ornaments can hang from walls, windows, and even beams across your ceiling.

More Ideas for Felt Heart Plushes

They also make gorgeous fillers for large vases, and you can even use them as a tag when you tie them to the handles of a gift bag for a special occasion like Mother’s Day. Larger felt heart plushes make excellent homemade throw pillows or seat cushions. They are perfect for a night of watching movies on the couch, or a special Valentine’s Day dinner. No matter what you plan to use these DIY heart plush ornaments for, follow the simple guide below and grab some cotton to what you need in minutes.
