Why make a gift bag? These gift bags for Father’s Day are a fabulous way for kids to enjoy doing an art project while adding to the gift they are giving!

This homemade Father’s Day gift can be reused for many different purposes. Dad could use it to store stationary such as pens and pencils at his desk. This paper bag shirt could also be flattened, set in a frame, and displayed in a place of honour for everyone to see.
HOMEMADE FATHER’S DAY GIFTS
The wrappings a gift contains can be just as fun as the gift itself! Kids making a homemade gift bag as part of a DIY Father’s Day gift to hold Dad’s present is a wonderful craft idea. How to make the shirt gift bag
Step 1: Select the blue coloured craft paper for the shirt gift bag. Measure and cut out a 20 cm X 14 cm sheet from the selected craft paper.
Step 2: Keeping 1 cm extra along the short side, fold the rest of the longer side in half.
Step 3: Apply glue along the extra 1 cm part and attach it with the other open side to close the sides of the paper bag.
Step 4: Fold 4 cm of the current paper inwards from any open sides.
Step 5: Open the fold from a side, keeping it flattened with the paper pattern.
Step 6: Now, open the other side of the fold, again, keep it flattened. This will create 2 flaps on the bottom side.
Step 7: Fold any one of the flap in half and inwards.
Step 8: Fold the other flap inwards and overlap the previous flap. Apply glue to close the bottom side by joining the flaps.
Step 9: Fold both sides of the current pattern by using the opposite corners of the square parts on the bottom.
Step 10: Open the last 2 folds and blow the paper bag through the open end.
Step 11: Fold the middle side creases inside and bring the rest of the creases outwards. Create a 2.5 cm crease along the open end of the paper bag.
Step 12: Cut 3 cm slits from both sides of the crease.
Step 13: Cut off the open side of the top creased part, keeping the backside part only.
Step 14: Fold the right side of the 3 cm part diagonally inwards.
Step 15: Similarly, fold the left side of the 3 cm part to form the collar of the paper bag shirt.
Step 16: Cut out 2 small round shapes from a brown coloured craft paper and add them to the open corner ends of the collar.
Step 17: Cut out a tie shape from light blue coloured paper and cut some strips from grey and lilac coloured papers.
Step 18: Attach the paper strips on the tie pattern.
Step 19: Attach the tie pattern on the paper shirt bag, below the collar to complete the paper bag shirt.
