Did you know that National Cherry Month is in February? I just love cherries, sweet or tart! Have you tried making a cherry drink to celebrate?
Cherries are actually very good for you. There are two major categories of cherries, tart and sweet. Both are rich in antioxidants which helps reduce inflammation in the body. Cherries have also been known to soothe sore muscles and relieve muscles aches and pain. They are a good source of vitamins A and C, and fiber.
The anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties found in cherries have been found to accelerate muscle recovery and decrease exercise-induced muscle pain. They also promote heart health and may reduce symptoms of arthritis. Cherries contain melatonin, a substance that helps regulate your sleep-wake cycle, therefore help to improve your sleep quality.
Cherries can easily be added to your diet and meal planning. You can also purchased dried cherries, cherry powder, and cherry juice, in order to add them to a variety of recipes.
