From the tiniest little creepy crawly creatures to the wildest of animals in the jungle, we are learning about the wild animal world with DK Canada Books.
Wild Animal World With DK Canada Books
Below are the three books we were given to review this month:
The Book of Brilliant Bugs
My Encyclopedia of Very Important Animals
Did you Know? Animals – Amazing answers to more than 200 awesome questions!
The Book of Brilliant Bugs
This gorgeous book is divided into four sections: What is a bug, Bugs and their Relatives, Bug Behaviour, Bug Habitats, and Bugs and Me. Jax got a kick out of the ‘Bug Menu’. He is aware already that people eat bugs in various parts of the world and talks about this sometimes when we see bugs. I don’t think he nor I realized just how many bugs are eaten. Including his favourite ‘bug’ the Tarantula which is served deep fried in Cambodia (YUCK!)
My Encyclopedia of Very Important Animals
With over 200 pages, this book is LOADED with beautiful vivid images of animals from all walks of life accompanied by interesting facts such as where they live, what they eat, what they are made of, and more. When Jax, Hudson, and I read this together, we have fun with them taking turns picking a random page in the ginormous book to go over. There is no shortage of pages to choose from! Naturally, when we didn’t stumble on the Tarantula page randomly, we had to dig it up from Jax!
Did you Know? Animals – Amazing answers to more than 200 awesome questions!
There are endless facts and question and answers in this book for little curious minds and animal lovers. What is a tusk? Why do ducks float? Which bird builds the best nest?
What are ants so busy? How do geckos walk upside down? These are just a small sample of over 200 questions answered in this book. Dare I say I might have learned something myself! The book covers mammals, birds, underwater, creepy crawlies, and reptiles/amphibians in its colourful pages. There are quick quizzes throughout many of the pages and answers can be found at the back of the book along with an extensive glossary.
You can find more books, like my family did, on DK Canada’s website! They are also available on Amazon Canada. We also connected with them on their Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest pages!
