Working from home and actually doing it are two very different things. In fact, things such as fear and uncertainty often hold even the most ambitious of people back from launching an at-home business.
But what if I told you that all that fear surrounding a stay-at-home job pales in comparison to the benefits of working from home?
If this is something that interests you, keep reading. Because today, I am going to share with you several reasons why you should strongly consider starting an at-home business.
Why Working from Home Is The Ultimate Dream
1. Schedule Control
There is no denying that having control over your days off, how much work you take on, and when you get to take a break is appealing. In fact, being able to control your schedule is one of the best reasons to start working from home.
Balance your work and personal life how you see fit, have the freedom to do as you please without answering to a boss, and still rake in plenty of money to enjoy the lifestyle you want working from home.
2. It is Lucrative
Don’t let anyone try to convince you that working from home cannot sustain the type of life you want to live. In fact, there are several ways you can earn money from home, such as staring a dropshipping business, that will earn you plenty of income to cover your living expenses, plus some.
And, if you work hard, you may even be able to surpass the salary you used to make in the corporate world, all from the comfort of your own home.
3. Tax Benefits
Working for yourself offers tax benefits not offered to traditional employees. For instance, you can write off things like work equipment, supplies, and even things like the office space in your home and gas used for work-related commutes.
That said, you should always consult an experienced tax professional to make sure you are not violating any rules, because tax regulations can hard to understand, especially for those just starting out.
4. You Will Be Happier
People that have more autonomy over their actions at work tend to be happier. In addition, those that have jobs that vary each day, provide a perfect work-life balance, and involve doing something they are passionate about correlate to more happiness, and thus more productivity.
Working from home can provide all of this and more. And, since there is research showing that having control over your day-to-day work tasks is what matters most, working from home easily becomes an ideal option for those that want to capitalize on their autonomy and make money in the process.
In the end, there are many reasons why working from home is a great idea. It just so happens that these are some of the best and are more likely to convince you to step out of your comfort zone, launch an at-home business, and start living the life you dream of right now.
Another very interesting post. Working from home is a nice idea because you can decide for yourself when you want to work, you save time too since you no longer have to commute to work, which also saves money too. The thing is though that you do have to work, you can’t just laze about all day though that is tempting I’m sure. So a certain amount of discipline is needed to make a success of it all.
Yes, discipline and a tight schedule!
You give great information. Thank you.
I see the benefits of working from home but you have to be disciplined.
It would be a dream of mine to completely work from home.. I have a side thing that I do at home. It must take a lot of discipline and hard work, though!
I think your statement -“People that have more autonomy over their actions at work tend to be happier.” is very true. I would love more autonomy and i think I could find a way to do what I do from home.
It would be great to work at to have a flexible schedule.
This is definitely something that I have thought about. With my health issues I need a flexible work schedule.
Awesome! working from home is definitely better for mental health too.
I love working from home, too. Sometimes I miss being at the office but not for long.
I have a full-time job but they’ve recently let me start working from home one day a week. I’m just amazed at how much I can get done!
I find that I actually get more done on those days that I work from home!
I don’t know if I could do it; simply because of the social component of the office. I would miss my people. And it would drive me batty being isolated and away from the dynamic environment that separates my “home life” from “work life” (which is important to me – I am someone different at work).
It’s not for everyone, I agree!
I work from home right now and it’s ideal for me. Most importantly, I love the freedom it gives me with my schedule, it’s wonderful to be able to do that.
This is something I’m extremely interested. I’m very disciplined and motivated but have health problems. This would be perfect for me.
Being self employed has its benefits. It can be hard if you are single and no other income. If you have a spouse who has a regular job that there is a steady paycheck, it makes it less risky, esp starting out. It can be perfect for many people, though.
A great idea to work from home being able to create a schedule that’s flexible but making sure to get the job done. Something I’ve wanted to do but knowing how to begin. Knowing the ins and outs of creating one.
I concur with the poster that said “you need to be disciplined”. I sure would not be able to stay focused on work if I were home, lol. I get distracted WAY too easily.
Yes, you definitely have to be. If not, way too many distractions at home lol!
My current goal is to work from home very soon.
Working from home would be great but it would also be very distracting
I work from home and I love it. I like being able to set my own schedule.
Good for you! Yes, that’s definitely a nice perk!
You need much discipline to work from home!
Working from home would be great
I don’t think I have the discipline it takes to work from home. 🙁
This is some great advice, I have considered working for myself many times but have always let fear get the best of me , next time I have the thought some of these things you have written will pop into my head .
