HEXBUG nano Space Cosmic Command Playset Review

My son loves to explore. One of the places he likes to get lost in is the one place many of us can only dream to venture to: Deep space. There is so much we can only imagine is out there for us to encounter. HEXBUG wants for kids to explore the universe with their HEXBUG nano Space Cosmic Command playset. They asked my son if he was up to the challenge of going beyond our known galaxy to see live and search for new terrains to live on. He gladly accepted and could not wait to blast off!

The HEXBUG nano Space Cosmic Command playset allows kids to take their imagination to the stars of our universe and beyond. With the help of little robotic nano bugs, kids can take off for new adventures in deep space. The nano robots can be placed in the rocket ship, patrol around mission control, journey along new planet’s terrain, and bring resources to different parts of the cosmic command centre within the Rovers. Kids can also enjoy their space odyssey with the use of a rotating gravity trainer, ion cannon, and air lock passage.

Once the set was put together, we were surprised at how big the set is. It teas almmost as long as our dining room table.

There are also a lot of details to take in on this playset. From the designs and manoeuvrability of the items like the satellite dish and the doors of the airlock passageways to the ability of the nano robots to be used in so many different ways is amazing. The numerous parts of this playset also make it easy for more than one child to join in on the expedition.

One of my son’s favourite features of this playset was the rocket ship. He and the ship were inseparable for the first half hour we put him in front of it. He zoomed around our dining room at lightning speed with the nano at the helm. He was in his own world for a long time until he was out of fuel.

After he brought himself back down to “terra firma,” he tried putting the nanos into different items at the space station. He watched as the nano spun around the rotation gravity trainer. He also let the little robots run wild along the paths of the station, both alone and within the rovers.

The docking station for the rocket was a great area to play at. My son helped his nano friends reach the bridge to the rocket by putting them into the elevator and then lifting it up. It was in constant use.

Overall, my son had a blast reaching for the stars with the HEXBUG nano Space Cosmic Command playset. It was so much fun to watch the nano robots shuffle around in order to discover new worlds beyond our galaxy. The details throughout this station helped my son get into space mode to get his imagination going. The rocket was the perfect touch to make traveling to different planets fun. Being able to put the nano robots into different objects helped to bring this station to life.  It is an action-packed adventure every time it is set up.

  1. I think the actual command station would be the most fun. Heck, I think it would be fun and I’m an adult…. most of the time. lol

  2. Oh my, what a question. Probably my grandson would use the rocket, seems logical to me but there again who knows with kids eh?

  3. My grandson would enjoy the aspect of putting it together and then letting his imagination soar into space…especially the rover.

  4. I think my oldest grandson would like the docking station and rocket. He visited the space centre in Florida this past summer and was quite fascinated with space travel.
