Cake Food

One of my favourite things to do is to watch cooking and baking competitions on the Food Network. Every now and then there is a challenge called the fake bake where the contestants make a meal that looks real but is actually a sweet treat. Now Netflix has a show called Is It Cake where contestants have to decide which item is cake and not a real item and let me tell you, it isn’t easy.

These items are usually made with cakes, fondant, icing, Rice Krispies, or moulding chocolate to form the item you choose to make. Whether it be burger cupcakes, a purse, shoes, or even a book. There are so many things I have seen bakers create I am so amazed by their talent.

Since this recipe is for Burger Cupcakes, don’t have real burgers for your meal. Prepare a nice dessert table with some sweet treats and fruit trays that will make the BBQ cupcakes the main feature on the table. If you are feeling extra creative in the kitchen, why not try your hands at dad’s favourite condiments with leftover cake mix or icing.
