Okay so drinking water is extremely essential to living a healthy lifestyle and is usually a big reason why you may not be losing weight when you are trying. Water is what helps to flush out your system and helps you to get toxins out of your body. It is recommended for optimal health that you drink half of your body weight in ounces of water a day. For example, if you say weigh 100 pounds, you should drink 50 ounces of water each day. Sometimes drinking this much water in one day can be difficult and sometimes unimaginable. I promise you really can do it and to help you here are 4 Tips for Drinking More Water Daily!
4 TIPS FOR DRINKING MORE WATER DAILY
1. TIME YOURSELF
When I say time yourself, I mean get a large water bottle and make marks along the length of the bottle with a sharpie. Set goals for yourself to drink a certain amount of water by a certain time throughout the day. If you have small goals to reach, it makes it seem a lot easier to get all your water in for the day. This also helps you to stay on track and you will know how much you have left throughout the day, making it easier to see the end and accomplish your goal.
2. FLAVOUR IT UP
Who says water has to be boring?! Add some flair to your water by infusing it with fresh fruit like strawberries, lemons, limes, or oranges. The possibilities are endless, you could really add any fruit that you would like! If you don’t want to take the time to add fresh fruit, you could also use flavour additives such as Mio, or Crystal Light. While these aren’t as beneficial as fresh fruit, it still is a healthy form of consuming water.
3. REPLACE OTHER DRINKS
Start replacing your other sugary, caffeinated drinks with water. Instead of drinking a soda for lunch and dinner, maybe drink water for one of the meals and just drink that soda for one meal if necessary. Try drinking a lot of water in the morning instead of coffee or tea. I know, some people can’t survive without coffee. But did you know drinking a glass of lemon water in the morning first thing is extremely beneficial to your body and can kick start your energy for the day.
4-CHALLENGE YOURSELF
Challenge yourself to drink a little bit more water each day than you drank the day before. Take baby steps, you don’t have to begin consuming a ton of water right away. Work into drinking a lot if that is what is necessary. If you cut off all other drinks cold turkey and just drink water, you’ll find yourself craving those sugary drinks even more, so take it slow…it’s not a race!
I know sometimes drinking the recommended amount of water for a day can be difficult and seem impossible. But I hope these little easy tips and tricks will help you on your journey. I promise, drinking a lot of water is extremely beneficial to your health and it can do nothing but help you!
