Choose the right plan for you

There are so many diet plans out there, whether you go for Weight Watchers, Atkins, or whatever you may choose…Make sure you choose a plan that you know it something that is plausible for you. Don’t choose a really strict, tough diet if you know you are not going to be able to stick to it!

Keep a Food/Exercise Journal

A food journal is such a great idea when you are attempting to lose weight. Personally, I have tried all the apps and everything to keep track of my food and exercise but I really have that a good old fashioned hand written journal is what works best for me. I just got a small notebook and some coloured pens to make my journal really colourful.

I have found that having to physically write down what I am eating and doing that I am more motivated to make good choices because if I have to write down that I ate a big old piece of pizza, then it’s going to make me feel bad about the choices I’ve made sitting right in front of me.

Find a Diet/Exercise Partner

I think that it is so so crucial that you have a partner when you are dieting and exercising, there are so many benefits to having someone by your side. A few reasons being that you have someone to go through the tough times with you, someone you can relate to and talk to about things. You also have someone to keep you accountable because they can tell you “Hey don’t eat that piece of cake!” You can keep each other motivated and it’s always nice to have a workout buddy to help pass the time along. These tips for staying motivated when on a diet will definitely help you to maintain your goals.

Don’t Focus So Much On The Scale

If the numbers on the scale aren’t moving too much and you’re getting discouraged, don’t! Sometimes just because you aren’t moving pounds on the scale doesn’t mean you’re not getting slimmer. Sometimes you can lose inches before you lose any actual pounds. Go by how your clothes feel, if your clothes are fitting you better, or if they are getting looser…you’re doing great! Just stay positive and confident, you will lose that weight…give it time!
