Going all the way back to my earliest childhood memories I recall the flavour of an orange creamsicle. It’s something a lot of us have in common. There is something about that blend of citrus and vanilla that we can’t get enough of. Partly, I think that’s because we all get a similar nostalgic feeling when we taste it; however, it’s also one of those classic combinations that just tastes amazing, no matter what the flavour reminds you of. No matter how you have experienced and enjoyed this winning combination in the past, this orange creamsicle drink recipe is going to delight and refresh you during hot summer days. Also, it couldn’t be easier to make.

Conjure Up A Memory

Making an orange creamsicle mocktail may seem like a complicated task, but it’s actually one of the simplest concoctions you can create at home. If you love to frequently indulge in the sweet and tangy blend of orange and vanilla cream, this
virgin creamsicle drink will be only natural. If you haven’t experienced this combination in ages, but would love to encounter them again for old times sake, then here is all you need to do.

What’s In A Creamsicle Drink?

Though simple, the recipe is interesting. You can’t simply melt the orange ice cream and drink it. The drink requires actual orange juice; however, orange juice alone is too overpowering and you lose the cream flavour. You need to balance it. Surprisingly, you don’t need more cream or any vanilla flavouring. All you need is ordinary water. It mellows out the orange juice just enough that when you add the slightly melted ice cream, it’s perfect. Try this non alcoholic dessert drink for yourself and you will see that this frothy beverage hits all the right notes for getting that unique creamsicle taste.

How to Make an Orange Creamsicle drink

Step 1: Measure out ice cream and let melt a bit, if you find that your ice cream is quite hard. Some freezers really freeze ice cream and it can be very hard and difficult to blend into the drink to get it nice and frothy. If your freezer doesn’t tend to freeze ice cream solid, you should be able to just pop the ice cream into the glass and go. You want the ice cream to be a bit firmer than soft serve. In warmer climates, this may only take a couple minutes for the ice cream to soften a bit.

Step 2: Mix water and orange juice in a jug.

Step 3: Add in ice cream and mix well. The mixture will be come a bit frothy.

  3. I remember, when I was younger, getting an oramnge creamsicle from the ice cream man when he came to our neighborhood with the happy ting-a-ling music playing that could be heard down the street. An orange creamsicle was one of my favorites! And I love getting the orange sherbert/ vanills ice cream combo at the grocery store! I’m surely going to be making this refreshing drink!
