A Canadian Family Vacation For Every Season

Canada is one of the few countries that is fun all year round. No matter the weather, there is always something to do that will make any family vacation a success.

The seasons in Canada all bring their own fun activities and traditions. Spring tends to be all about new growth and appreciating the beautiful nature the country has to offer. Summer calls for fun adventures, exploring the area and soaking up the sun. Fall, of course, brings the harvest months, Halloween and fabulous festivals for you to enjoy. Winter, perhaps one of the more popular months, brings all the snow and fantastic winter carnivals.

Here are our top activities to do during the different seasons:

Spring Family Vacation

Ottawa Tulips Festival

With spring come the new flowers and blossoms. The country is covered in a variety of different colours and various species of flora, including tulips. The famous Ottawa Tulips Festival boasts over a million blooms of various tulip species, making it the largest tulip festival in the world.

Travel down to Commissioners Park or along the Rideau Canal for the best selection and sightings. This is truly a nature lover’s paradise.

Experience Spring Heli-Skiing in Canadian Monashee Mountains

Skiing in Spring? Sounds optimistic but in Canada that isn’t the case as the snow stays intact and powdery right through until the springtime. The Monashee Mountains are the perfect spot in British Columbia for any outdoor lover looking for an adventure. The fantastic alpine terrain and gorgeous panoramic views make for an unforgettable skiing experience.

Heli-skiing is for the brave few who want to see the best view and ski down the mountain while taking it in. Take a magical helicopter ride to the top and jump off for the best skiing experience of your life.

Explore the Bruce Peninsula Grotto

This natural rock formation is unique and spectacular. With beautiful blue waters surrounded by amazing grey rock formations, this location is possibly the best finish to any hike.

Walk through an abundance of greenery, hugging the coastline until you reach the magnificent cave – a fun day out with the family, celebrating nature and all its beauty.

  1. I love to travel by train, it takes longer than a flight but its a wonderful experience. I only wish the prices in Canada were more like they are in Europe.
