  • The head tilt to the side when they want to nurse
  • Those outstretched arms and smiles when you walk into their room after a napsmiles
  • Watching baby lift their foot up and stick their toe in their mouth (ahh, the flexibility)flexibility

Things I don’t miss

  • Packing things every time we leave the house
  • Living life in 3-hour shifts between feedings and naps
  • That dreaded feeling that forces you to check to make sure baby is still breathing
  • Separation anxiety every time you step out of the room (or even slightly move)crying
  • Explosive bowel movements up the back of their diaper shirt
  • Sleep deprivation torture tacticssleep deprivation
  • When days were nights and nights were days and you felt that you and your baby were the only two people awake in the dark of night (and yet … sometimes I do miss this)
