The 2nd Annual Dylan Beaton Memorial Golf Tournament in Support of Roger’s House

The 2nd Annual Dylan Beaton Memorial Golf Tournament in Support of Roger’s House is being held on  June 16th, 2014.  They would love for you to join them!  This event will be taking place at the Canadian Golf and Country Club with a shot gun tee off time at 12:00pm followed by dinner and a silent and live auction with our emcees, Jeff Hopper from CTV Morning Live.

Alongside the Ottawa Senators Foundation, this tournament was created to both honour the short life of Dylan Andrew Beaton and to raise funds for Roger’s House; a palliative care facility for children and their families. As expectant parents, you dream of the person your child will grow to be. You imagine a lifetime for them full of happiness and success, but in October 2012, Amy and Andrew Beaton’s hopes and dreams for their child were quickly taken away when they learned that their unborn son would not likely live much past birth due to a rare chromosomal abnormality called Pallister-Killian Syndrome. In order to assist the couple as best as possible during such a difficult time, arrangements were made for them to be introduced to the Care Team at Roger’s House.

On November 29th, 2012, Dylan Andrew Beaton was born, but left us much too soon on January 5th, 2013. During his short life, the team at Roger’s House took the time to help create wonderful memories for the family while providing them with the opportunity to spend private quality time with their child while they said goodbye in a compassionate home-like environment.

As one can imagine, the Beaton’s will forever hold a place in their hearts for the Care Team at Roger’s House, where they continue to provide them with the strength and support they have needed since the beginning of this journey. In return, the family has dedicated their time and energy in supporting a cause that they know is crucial to have within our community.

With your help, other families who find themselves in similar situations will be able to benefit from this tremendous facility and their incredible staff!
