Temporary Canada Aviation and Space Museum Closure for Exhibition Remodelling‏

| March 5, 2014 | 1 Comment

The Canada Aviation and Space Museum will be closed from March 17 to 21, and April 22 to 25, respectively. The Museum will remain open during March Break and over the Easter long weekend.

During the closure periods, modifications will be made to the museum’s main exhibition. The remodel will focus on the centennial of the First World War, and will put more emphasis on aircraft of that era from the Museum’s collection, as well as the important innovations and technological aircraft transformations that characterize the period.

“This year, 2014, marks the centennial of the start of the First World War. The Canada Aviation and Space Museum will feature a new exhibition with aircraft that have never before been on display to commemorate this event,” says Museum Director General Stephen Quick. “The Museum holds the collected stories and artefacts of Canada’s aviation and now space heritage and, as such, the responsibility to ensure that Canadians and international visitors can share in and experience first hand those stories. As we enter into a period of significant milestones and commemorations, we take our responsibility to “never forget” very seriously.”
