Reflections on her 1st Birthday

| April 24, 2013 | 2 Comments

I’m sure others can relate when I say that I cannot believe 1 year has gone by since Everley came into our lives. It feels like just yesterday, and at the same time, it feels like she has been here forever. It is amazing how your life quickly becomes absorbed by the daily routines of such a small child, and how happy you are to slow your life down to accommodate this little one. Everley is a tornado of activity; 18 pounds of pure joy and love and we are so lucky to have her. This last year has taught me so much about how to be a good mom, a better wife, and most importantly, a stronger and more confident person. There’s nothing like having someone depend on you for everything to really teach you what you are capable of. I am so grateful to be Everley’s mother and I’m looking forward to all our family adventures in the future!

We had a great party to celebrate her 1st birthday. Everley went in with both hands to devour her cake. She loved seeing all her family and friends. She had the most fun ripping up the tissue paper that came with her gifts! It was a great day and we are so thankful for the people in her life that have made this past year so special.

I look forward to writing more posts about my toddler, no longer my newborn! Here’s to the future.

By: Deanne is a brand new mom to a 4 month old beautiful girl, Everley. As a graduate of Carleton’s mass communications program, she loves to document her many adventures in the hopes of sharing her struggles and joys with other moms.  She is the first in her group of friends to have a baby, so she is learning as she goes and is having a blast. When not changing diapers, she loves to spend family time with her husband Chris, their baby girl, and of course their furry baby, dog Ruby.
