The holiday season is truly a magical time of year. All of the cooking, the gift wrapping, the tree decorating and…oh, is that stain on my shirt in this year’s holiday picture? And a leftover piece of turkey stuck in my teeth? Gasp! It’s a holiday nightmare!

Nowadays, it’s impossible to escape from the onslaught of pictures taken during gatherings with your friends and family, especially with how easy it is to snap a picture on a phone and upload it onto social media. The days of hiding embarrassing holiday pictures in a drawer are long gone! So, you may be wondering — what’s the secret for snapping that perfect holiday selfie and/or family picture? It’s to prepare before the big festivities begin!

Helpful Tips for a Successful Holiday Selfie

Don’t let a stubborn stain spoil the occasion!

  • Try to pick out this year’s holiday outfits for you and your family well before the festivities begin! Nobody likes to find a stain on their favourite outfit, or worse, notice it once a photo has been taken! Check for stains and spills before the festivities begin and use Arm & Hammer Plus OxiClean 3-in-1 Power Packs to get the job done. OxiClean stain fighters help to remove stains, plus the formula freshens and deodorizes with the freshness of Arm & Hammer Baking Soda.

Have your best smile ready!

  • Maintaining good oral health shouldn’t be reserved for the holidays; however, if you need to brush up (pun intended) on your smile, I suggest switching to the Arm & Hammer Spinbrush Sonic Pro Pulse Brush. Can you believe that its brush removes two times more plaque than the regular, manual brush? That’s because its head spins around as you brush to reach back corners. When paired with Arm & Hammer Truly Radiant Bright & Strong toothpaste, you’ve got a winning combo to strengthen and clean. And smile your best for that selfie, teeth showing!

Get a good night’s rest before the big day!

  • The holiday season can be a very tiring time, and nobody wants to have their picture taken with dark circles under their eyes! Remember amidst all the craziness to find time to relax, take a nap if necessary, and get a good night’s sleep. Your pictures will look fantastic and you’ll feel well rested and ready to take on anything. It’s a win-win situation!

Cut down on prep time!

  • Beauty prep, that is! If you’re like me, that fabulous blow out only lasts a day before you need to rinse and repeat. Until now. Dry shampoo is the latest trick up my sleeve. I love Batiste Dry Shampoo — it instantly refreshes hair between washes by absorbing excess oil from the roots and leaving hair looking and smelling clean and fresh. Now I no longer stress when I’m running behind schedule and don’t have time for a full wash or styling session before heading out. Batiste Beautiful Brunette dry shampoo plus a hint of colour compliments medium, brunette and auburn hair tones. Genius!

I don’t really have any good picture stories but I do think that getting as much rest as possible during the holidays is key to keeping stress levels down.

Not really a holiday photo story but recently when friends from out of province came to vist, they took a pic of hubby and I and although we didn’t realize it till later, we got photo bombed by three young guys lol!

Those pictures that aren’t posed I find always are my faves.

We have some really bad pictures that I’ve taken of the kids opening their gifts. I just snap away as they go wild so you never know what you’re gonna get but the funny pictures are always my favorites. I’ve never been a big fan of posed pics.
