Playgroup Activity Ideas from Moms and MunchkinsSince this is my first guest post for Ottawa Mommy Club, I want to start by introducing myself and telling you a bit about what you can expect in this series of posts. My name is Cheryl and I am the owner and writer for Moms & Munchkins, a blog filled with ideas for family fun, activities for kids, party ideas, holiday fun, entertaining tips, moms night out ideas and more. On Moms & Munchkins I have an extensive collection of tips on how to create your own Mom & Tot group. Attending a Mom & Tot group is a great way to meet other moms in your area and develop new friendships both for yourself and your child. Depending on the amount of people in your group and the age range of the children, coming up with playgroup activity ideas can be difficult.

Here on Ottawa Mommy Club, I’ll be sharing Mom & Tot playgroup activity ideas with you. I’ll share some craft ideas perfect for little hands, some activity ideas to enjoy as a group and much more. For my first post I’d like to share some quick & easy ideas for gathering your group for play dates on short notice.

  • Meet at a restaurant with a play area for kids so the moms can enjoy a cup of coffee while the kids burn off some energy.
  • Meet at a park to feed the ducks or bring along some balls to play a few activities with the kids.
  • Meet at an outdoor playground and bring along water, juice and sliced fruit.
  • If all of your youngsters are still in strollers, meet at a mall to walk around, window shop and chat.
  • Meet at a library to do a group story time together.

Where are your favourite places to go for a play date?

Great post Cheryl! Looking forward to getting more ideas. During the winter the playdates are most often at my house or friends houses. In the summer, lots more time is spent outside.
