No Throw Sippy Cup Tether Review

My daughter Nina has been learning to use a sippy cup for the past couple months. We generally just give her cup during meal times and this has often involved her grabbing it from her highchair tray, maybe taking a sip of it if I help guide her, then she shakes it around a bit and dangles it threateningly over the edge of the chair. It used to also involve her throwing it over the edge and us picking it up for her – over and over again. That is, until we received the No Throw sippy cup tether from Twin Beginnings.

Twin Beginnings was created by twin sisters Karla and Karen in the United States and they make infant bottle straps, pacifier straps and sippy cup straps to stop babies from throwing their things over and over again.

It made me laugh the first few times Nina tried to toss her sippy cup overboard only to have it dangle over the edge and not hit the ground. You loop the strap around the chair and then wrap it around the cup with Velcro. Sometimes it was a bit finicky to attach and the cup ended up slipping through but generally, it’s been really helpful to keep Nina’s cup off the ground. We have also used the strap a lot for Nina’s toys, especially when we are at restaurants or she’s in her stroller. We’ve wrapped the strap around Sophie the Giraffe’s neck and Elmo’s neck and while it looks a bit morbid, it sure is great to not have to worry about her toys getting dirty from public floors.
