Keeping My Children Happy and Healthy with Heinz Baby Foods and Coupons #Giveaway! ~ CAN 07/14

| June 19, 2014 | 46 Comments

My children have the tendency to be picky eaters. We try to give them an assortment of food so they do not rely on a handful of staples on a day-to-day basis. One the food brands we like to go to that has a variety of choices for my kids is Heinz Baby.

For the past 80 years, Heinz Baby has been making quality food for children in Canada. Heinz also thrives to make their food for children nutritious with the Heinz Purity Assurance Program. Heinz guarantees that the food they prepare for children are triple tested for quality, safety and nutrition. Here are some of the things Heinz does to make sure they are providing a quality product for younger eaters (which can also be found on their website):

• Their growers have standards and restrictions that are 4 times stricter than those provided by the Canadian government.
• All of their ingredients are carefully inspected, tested and prepared.
• No artificial colours, flavours, preservatives or modified starches are added to their food products.
• All of Heinz Baby foods are cooked to specific temperatures in their own juices (except carrots), to capture all their nutrients and taste, as well as to achieve the right texture for younger eaters.
• All food jars are vacuum-packed and safety-sealed.

It is great to know that Heinz would go through all of these procedures to make sure the food they make is great tasting and good for children who are just beginning to eat solid foods.

We all know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. We need it to help get us geared up for the day ahead of us. At our house, we like to make sure that we switch up the menu as much as possible, while making sure our kids are getting the nutrition they need. Heinz has breakfast cereals that my little one like to eat that are good for them, too. We like to add Heinz Cereal with Milk to our breakfast menus. It is quick and easy to prepare, but it also has the nutrients they need to keep me on my toes! Your sense of smell really gets a treat because of the aroma of fruit and cinnamon is breathtaking! The kids enjoy the flavours of these cereals as well! They are great additions to the rest of their meal in the mornings!

My children also like having a snack before going down for their daily nap. We like to make sure they have something that is light and delicious so they will go down easy. We added Heinz Pouch and Spout Snacks into our rotation of snacks to accomplish this. We like to serve it cold to our kids, but you can serve it warm, too. We than squeeze them into bowls and my kids snack away.

The Heinz Little Kids Apple Cinnamon Cereal Bars were a hit with my son! I know that most people would give these bars to their children for breakfast, but we used them as a nighttime snack for our little guy! He needs a little bit of a hardier and comforting treat before bed, and these bars fit the bill. They are sweet, soft and crumbly. It is a bit like having a mini apple pie. After he ate this cereal bar, it did not take too long for my tiny tike to go to sleep.

If your little ones have a sweet tooth, like my children do, then Heinz Junior Desserts have to offer are great to have on hand. Besides being made with only a handful of ingredients, they are tasty, too! My son also has a bit of sweet tooth, so he likes to savour this yummy treat!

The hands-down favourite food my children enjoy from the Heinz Little Kids line of products has to be their Original Biscuits! They are perfect size for their little hands, they are crunchy, and are so delicious. Yes, even I snack on them! My daughter asks for them whenever she sees the cupboard we store them in open. These biscuits are great because we can give them to our kids either as part of a snack, or as their dessert after dinner.

My children are fans of the Heinz Baby line of products. They are tasty and good for them. They are also created and with a lot of care to provide a quality product to consumers. If you are looking to add new foods to your little one’s menu, then try out Heinz Baby food products!
