Getting sick. It happens to all of us at one time or another. It is great knowing what to take in order to relieve the symptoms. There are so many products on the market to heal what ails us, it is hard to choose which one would be the best to use. Many people believe in taking a more homeopathic approach to their medication because they do not want to ingest the chemicals that some non-homeopathic medications contain. Boiron believes in a homeopathic approach to healing various health issues, and have created an app to help users choose the right medication from their illnesses.
The Boiron Homeopathic Medicine Finder is a free app designed to allow users to find the medication they need from the Boiron family of products in a few simple clicks. Users go through the following steps to finding their recommended medication:
1. Choose a category
2. Choose a symptom
3. View the recommended medicine.
This app is available in both French and English. For this review, I chose the English version. I easily downloaded this app onto my smartphone that runs on the Android operating system (it is also available for Apple users) and opened the app to begin using it. I was automatically directed to the Choose a Category page which list an array of choices for users to click. Since I suffer from seasonal allergies, I click on this option.
I was then brought to the Choose a Symptom page. There were a lot of options to select that are most common to most allergy suffers. I clicked on Itchy Eyes since this is a symptom I always suffer from.
I liked that I was them brought to a page that asked me whether these symptoms were for a child or for an adult.
I then received my recommended medication for my allergic itchy eyes symptom. The app suggested for me to use Sabilia. There was a lot of information provided by this app about this product. I was given the purpose of this medication, the dosage for both adults and children along with instructions on how to make sure the dosage was taken correctly, and a list of the medicinal ingredients found in this product. The warnings and information button informed me to see a doctor if my symptoms continued after seven days of use. The warnings and information button informed me to see a doctor if my symptoms continued after seven days of use. There were even tabs I could click on for warnings and information about this product.
The Find Near You Button shows where users can find the full and partial Boiron product lines closest to them. This button directed me to a store locator page. I was then directed to close to 80 locations within five kilometers of my home that carries the partial Boiron product line, including their addresses and phone numbers so I could call as ask if they had Sabilia in stock. This tool makes finding the recommended Boiron products so much easier for users. I am a real fan of it! I do have to note that you should make sure that you allow the app to have access to your location in order for this tool to provide you with this information.
When hitting the Share button, I was given the option of how I could pass on the results I received on the app. This is a great idea for people who are looking for products for others who do not have access to the Internet, or to have a place to keep this information for a later time. Here is a list of options users have to choose from for sharing their results:
• Print off a copy so the user can have a hard copy for a future use
• Share through social media through their Twitter or Facebook channels
• Send an email to whomever would benefit from this information.
When using the print option, I had to make sure my phone was compatible with my printer, but I was able to have a hard copy of this information. I had two different experiences when sharing these suggestions on social media. When tweeting these details, I had to log in, but the information went out as my information was validated. With Facebook, I had to log in then I could add a message to post before sending it out. I wish I would have been able to add a bit of text to my tweet before it was published. I was also able to easily send myself the same information via email. I was also able to use the Find Near You button easily from my email once I opened it on my browser. It was as simple to use as the app on my smartphone.
I only had one major issue with this app. When I inquired about what medication this app would recommend for other ailments, for many of the choices where I was asked whether it was for an adult or a child, I was given the same suggestion with the same information. For me, it is a bit of a redundant step and users could save themselves a bit of time by not having to go through this step.
Overall, I really enjoyed using the Boiron Homeopathic Medicine Finder app. It was really easy to use, you get the information you are looking for in two to three clicks, and you are able to see where you can purchase the item suggested. It was also great to discover that there were so many places close to my home where I could purchase products from Boiron. I thought it would only be in specialty stores, but it was in so many more retailers than I would have imagined!
So if you are looking for a more homeopathic approach to your health and want a product that will help to heal your symptoms, then download the free Boiron Homeopathic Medicine Finder app to find one near you! It is currently available for iOS and Android users.
