Halloween is a fun occasion that is celebrated around the world which may be done a bit differently than what we know Halloween to be. What they all have in common is a celebration that includes many different treats and food. Over the years witches have become a big part of the celebration so make it a fun occasion with this Halloween Witches recipe.
In Mexico, it is called Dia de Los Muertos, which is a 3-day celebration beginning on October 31 and ending on November 2. On Samhain eve (now known as Halloween), fairy and demon spirits would appear in the ether as they travelled to the afterlife. Dressing in costumes helped ward off spirits.
What is a Witch?
Magical beings that have powers to cast spells, make potions, use crystal balls and even fly on broomsticks. They are usually portrayed as evil although some see them as wise and helpful. When we see a witch on TV, in books or movies their appearance is green or purple in colour with a pointy hat and nose.

Every little girl wants to be or has been a witch for Halloween during their childhood. Everything we love about the season. Halloween Witch Recipe
This Halloween witch recipe is so yummy and easy to prepare with your kids. They will make adorable Halloween marshmallow witches. This easy marshmallow halloween treats recipe makes about a dozen witches, but you better make more as they won’t last long!
Halloween Witches Ingredients
- 1/2 cup vanilla frosting, divided
- 36 miniature semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 12 large marshmallows
- 1 drop each green, red and yellow food colouring
- 1/4 cup flaked coconuts
- 12 chocolate wafers
- 12 miniature peanut butter cups (optional)
- 12 milk chocolate kisses
How To Make Halloween Witch
1. For the face of each witch, place a dab of frosting on the bottom of three chocolate chips; press two for eyes and one for nose onto each marshmallow.
2. For hair, combine green food colouring and a drop of water in a small plastic bag; add coconut and shake well. Spread a small amount of frosting on sides of marshmallows; press coconut hair into frosting. Place 3 tablespoons of frosting in a small heavy-duty plastic bag; tint orange with red and yellow food colouring. Set aside.
3. To make hats, spread some of the remaining frosting in the center of chocolate wafers. To make tall hats press peanut butter cups upside down into frosting and add a Hershey kiss on top. If you like shorter hats lightly spread bottoms of chocolate kisses with frosting; place on tops of chocolate wafer cookies. Cut a small hole in the corner of pastry or plastic bag; insert a small star tip. Fill the bag with frosting and pipe stars around the base of the hat. Secure a hat to each witch with a dab of frosting.
