Spooktacular movie monster fun

Movie monsters are what my family lives for. These creatures make us jump and laugh as we watch some of our favourite films and television shows. In Monsters in the Movies, Legendary film maker John Landis shares with readers some of the greatest monsters to stomp and slither across our screens. Landis also showcases other great movie monster makers and discusses the art of monster making wth them. Readers can also get a bit to a sneak peek at the secrets o the special-effects masters who created some of the legendary movies.

I love reading the “Fabulous Beasts” section of this book. There are so many different creatures shared for readers to discover. I especially loved learning more about the phoenix. I didn’t know that this character was associated with the rising and the setting of the Sun.

Magical and mystical kid fun

My kids love to read many stories about heroes and monsters during story time. Some of the characters are based off of myths and legends from around the world. Children’s Book of Mythical Beasts and Magical Monsters teaches young readers the the history behind many of these characters shared on every continent. It also helps them to enjoy the art and history of storytelling throughout history.

My littles love all of the goodies they found in the book! They were fascinated to learn more about Maui, the demigod featured in Disney’s Moana and the Egyptian gods and goddesses. They were also captivated by how dragons are depicted in different cultures throughout history.
