Do you have a toy that does not feel well? Well, it is time to bring it in for its check-up because the Doc is in as Dottie “Doc” McStuffins is releasing her third DVD!  Doc McStuffins: School of Medicine will be available on September 9, 2014.

In this compilation of episodes, Doc helps to get toys on the mend as they suffer from the blurries, brrritis when Chilly gets chilly, as well as mending broken toys with her positive can-do attitude and gentile bed side manner. There is even an episode where Doc herself becomes a patient, and she learns that she has to have patience to be a good patient.

My little ones have never watched Doc McStuffins before, so they are new viewers to this show. Here they are while viewing the first episode on this DVD compilation. Both of them were asking to watch this first thing in the morning and this made their day! They have been taken with Doc from the moment they started watching the show. I was able to click away while they were watching the show without even noticing me with a camera in front of them. Now, all I hear from them is that they want to watch Doc McStuffins.

As a parent, I really enjoy watch Doc treat and take care of her toy patients with kindness. I got a kick out of Doc’s Big Book of Boo Boos. It is a log if all of the ailments her patients have that she has never come across before, and she logs them for future reference. I also like how Doc is helping kids to realize that it is okay to talk about the minor or major signs and symptoms they are experiencing with a parent or their doctor. Doc helps to put her toy patients’ mind at ease, and she gives kids viewing the show an idea of what to expect when they go and visit their doctor.

Besides Doc McStuffins, my favourite character in this series has to Hallie the Hippo. Voiced by Loretta Devine, Hallie the Hippo is Doc’s sassy and witty nurse at her clinic, and she says the funniest phrases. My favourite is “A hippo hunch is never out to lunch!” Hallie makes me smile every time I see her on the screen.

There was an added bonus for my family that came with this Doc McStuffins DVD. It was the Doc McStuffins Doc Dress-Up Play Set! It includes a paper doll Doc McStuffins, her backyard and her doctor’s clinic. My kids flipped out when they saw this hidden treasure in the DVD case. This set also included re-stackable stickers to use on Doc, in the backyard area, or in Doc’s clinic. The stickers were of Doc’s toy pals Lamby, Chilly and Stuffy, different medical signs Doc would use in her clinic, and plenty of outfits for Doc to change into.

My kids could barely wait for me to put Doc together, or to allow them to start to let their imaginations go wild as they stepped into the world of Doc McStuffins and helped to make Doc’s toys feel better.

I hope that you and your children enjoy watching Doc McStuffins don her magical stethoscope to play and treat her toy patients!

I love the photo of your two kids watching the show :). We’ve never watched this show, but I think any DVD that came with a paper doll and stickers would be a winner in our household!

Hi Judy! Yes, Doc McStuffins is a great choice for kids! What I did not mention in this post is that she is also a great role model for kids to follow. She is smart, caring, and teaches kids how to solve some of the problems that they encounter. I became a huge fan of hers after watching this DVD, too! Thanks for your comment!

Hey Louise! I think that is my favourite shot I used for this post! I think I they would have been upset if I went in front of the TV to block their view.

Yes, the Doc McStuffins paper doll play set is still a big hit with them. They love changing her outfits and pretending to be her to treat the toys in her clinic. I’m glad they have it to continue what they have learned from the DVD.
