Fashion and Comfort Come Together with Leave Nothing But Footprints #Review and $100 GC #Giveaway ~ CAN 03/26

| March 5, 2015 | 71 Comments

Shopping for clothing that looks good and feels good while you are wearing it can be a challenge, especially if you are looking for clothing to wear for work or going away on vacation. Then also finding these qualities in clothing that is environmentally-friendly narrows the places people can shop. Leave Nothing but Footprints (LNBF) is meets all of these criteria by offering a wide range of apparel for women that are comfortable and friendly to the environment.

LNBF took their name from this old saying, “Leave nothing behind but footprints, take nothing but memories.” Based in Toronto, LNBF wants women to make a sustainable world for future generations, beginning with their clothing. LNBF creates stylish pieces for women who do not want to give up on the comfort or the quality of their clothing, either. This company uses fabrics like viscose from bamboo, Tencel and organic cotton, and using OEKO-TEX® 100-certified mills, their bamboo fabrics use fewer chemicals and less water to produce their fabric than it does to manufacture synthetic and cotton fabrics. Ultimately, LNBF wants to inspire people to live a sustainable lifestyle by picking clothing that is both fashionable and friendly to the environment.

From the vast array of pieces LNBF has available on their site, I was able to choose four pieces to try under their Eco-Essentials section for this review. These are the pieces I chose to try:
• Eileen Top in Charcoal
• Clover Top in Ivory
• Eco-Essentials Bamboo Tank in Orange
• Voyage Skort in Ink

I chose these pieces to show off the variety of styles LNBF has available to customers.

I decided to give the Eileen Top in Charcoal a laid back look, so I paired it with pieces in my wardrobe to make an outfit that I could wear as an everyday outfit to wear while running errands or hanging out with friends or my kids. I also chose this top because I love cowl necked tops, and I thought it would make normal outfit look a bit more special. I loved how comfortable this top was to wear! The Eileen Top was so soft, and I did not become annoyed with the sleeves as I usually would with most sleeves. It was also a great top to create a layered look with, as I like wearing tank tops under a lot of my shirts.

I decided to put together an outfit that I would wear out with my friends for a Girls’ Day out with the Clover Top in Ivory. I also picked this top as one anyone could wear out with the girls because of the ruching at the collar of this top that gives it a dressier feel. I loved wearing this outfit. I felt so comfortable in this outfit. I did not have to adjust myself while I was in it, and the ruching allowed for the top to fall in such a way to flatter my figure. This top would also be great to wear at the office with a great pair of dress pants, or for a more casual look on Casual Friday

I love skorts, so I had to choose the Voyage Skort in Ink. I also wanted to try a pair of bottom from this section of the LNBF site. I put together an outfit that I would wear either during the late spring/summer months we have here in Ottawa, or while on vacation in some warm location. Depending on the material, skorts can be uncomfortable, but the pair I received from LNBF had to be the most comfortable pair I have ever worn! The fit of these skorts were perfect for me. There was no bunching around the waist, and they fell just above my knees, which is great for me, as they will not ride up too high when I go biking in them. Finally, the material was airy so I did not feel as though I was wearing shorts under a skirt.

I fell in love with the Eco-Essentials Bamboo Top in Orange the moment I selected the colour. Out of all of the pieces I chose, I felt that this top would be the most versatile. At first, I just wanted to create a look for a Date Night with a pair of dark wash jeans and a pair of fun shooties. At the last minute, I added a blazer to finish off this look. I loved it! The Eco-Essentials Bamboo Top in Orange just gave a great pop of colour. This top was also so comfortable. As soon as I put it on, it just fell perfectly on the top of my pants, and felt so soft and light.

I cannot say how much I enjoyed wearing piecing from LNBF’s Eco-Essentials line! They were all so soft and light, and were perfect for layering. They are also very easy to dress up and down with other pieces in my wardrobe, so they are great staples to have on hand. Finally, these pieces would be great to tale on vacation with you, as they are easy to roll up and put in your luggage and go. If you are looking for a great line of clothing that is also environmentally-friendly, then look no further than Leave Nothing but Footprints.
