It’s finally time to say goodbye to summer, and to say hello to fall! It’s such a beautiful time of year, and the perfect season to pull out your cozy sweaters and enjoy all of the outdoor activities it has to offer! It’s also the perfect time to fall into a new routine before the winter months really makes us want to hibernate.

To help motivate you, I’m ’m sharing some of my favourite things to do outdoors during the fall, and my secrets that help keep me going (and get my spooky mood on)!

Fall Into a New Routine

Plan out some seasonal activities!

  • We may be saying goodbye to beach days, waterparks, and scorching afternoons, but with fall now in our midst, there are so many other outdoor activities (for all ages!) to enjoy that go hand-in-hand with the season! There’s pumpkin and apple picking, pumpkin carving, corn mazes, haunted houses, stepping on crunchy leaves, cozying up in a sweater and a blanket while reading a good book outside -the list just keeps on going! If you’re looking for more fun ideas, check out what’s happening in your area each week!

Fall Walks:

  • There’s nothing better than going for a long, fall walk to take in all the sensory experiences the season has to offer. From the smell of fresh air, to the colourful changing leaves, you’re sure to make this a staple in your weekly routine. But with the change of season comes a change to our wardrobe. Switching from sandals to shoes and boots can be uncomfortable as our feet get used to different footwear. To help ease any discomfort, consider using Dr. Scholl’s® Comfort & Energy Massaging Gel® Insoles, especially during longer walks to make sure you can comfortably keep moving without having to turn back early. These insoles are great for foot and leg fatigue, with gel waves that massage the most sensitive areas of your foot.

Get Active!

  • If you’re looking for a little more activity, there are lots of options to keep you going during the fall. If you’re really adventurous, join a fall sports league, or get your family out to play a new sport like soccer or softball.
  • But I know what you’re thinking, the aches and pains that come with physical activity can be a deterrent (even if it’s picking up a few pumpkins), especially if it affects your sleep. Luckily, ALEVE® Nighttime is here to help! ALEVE® Nighttime relieves muscle aches and pains for up to 12 hours, plus it has a sleep aid to not only help you fall asleep, but stay asleep as well.

Decorate your home for the season!

  • There’s nothing that puts me more in the mood for fall than by decorating my home/bedroom (or even your office!) with scented candles, pumpkins, and autumn-themed accessories. Not only does it help you get into the festive spirit, but your space will look – and smell – amazing!

Prepare some fall favourites!

  • Baking (and eating) seasonal treats is one of my favourite parts about fall! There are so many to choose from: candy apples, pumpkin and apple pies, muffins, cookies, pumpkin spice lattes – and the list goes on! If you’ve got as much of a sweet tooth as I do, or you’re simply looking to treat yourself after taking that nice walk, dig into some autumn favourites and embrace the season while it’s still here!
