Drinks on the Go with myColdCup! #Review #Giveaway #HolidayGiftGuide ~ Canada 12/16

Having young ones usually means having to also brining along a bag of items to ensure that you do not have to stop to buy things they need while you are out. This is especially the case where drinks are concerned. My kids are picky with the drinks they consume, and I have had to carry around ice packs in insulated lunch bags to keep their drinks cool whenever we went out. It was a lot of work, and the ice packs and the lunch packs took up a lot of space in the bag I carried around with my kids. This is why I was so excited to learn about and review myColdCup , a cup that will keep drinks cold for 6 hours!

Gwenda, the founder and designer of myColdCup came up with the idea to create these cups because of the waste of milk cartons that were not used by school milk programs, and how this program was inaccessible for those with dairy allergies. I was so impressed when I received my two cups! It was a great size (8 oz), and the colours were gorgeous! We were given two cups, three freeze sticks (the last one was in the freezer when I took this photo), and nine silicone colour bands so my kids can have more than one colour of their own to personalize their cup with their favourite colour.

Since my younger children and I were under the weather for after receiving our myColdCups, I tested our cups at home over the course of a 6-hour period. I had my kids pick from the colour bands. My son chose the purple band and my younger daughter fell in love with the bands (she claimed the pink one for herself). I then filled each of the cups with their favourite drinks (orange juice and milk) and then placed the caps on them. I left them on my counter for three hours (from 8 AM to 11 AM) to see how cool and fresh they would keep in the myColdCups. My favourite feature has to be the freeze sticks! This piece of the product is what keeps drinks cold from the inside of the cup. I no longer have to lug around heavy ice packs and lunch bags to keep their drinks cold.

After the time lapsed, I tested each of the drinks in the myColdCups. The results: Cold! I was so impressed with how effective these containers kept these drinks cold for such a long period of time, especially for milk and orange juice. I then let my children drink their drinks. They loved drinking out of these cups! They were having fun opening and closing their cups, and the spout on the cup made it harder for spills to occur while using these cups.

The vacuum sealed cap was also easy to unlock and lift, so my kids would not have a lot of trouble opening it to drink. I like that, when the cap is tightly sealed, it creates a vacuum seal, so it keeps drinks fresh.

I also have a teen daughter who likes to take drinks to school with her for her lunches. I asked her take one of the cups to school for a few days to see how well they traveled and held up during her school days. I would have her on the milk program at school to alleviate the need to bring a container with her, but she would come home with her carton of milk time and time again, wasting the money I had invested in buying milk for her to drink at school. She would either use a reusable container or she would be bringing drinking box containers home every day since she does not have access to a refrigerator and students are not allowed to throw drinking boxes out at school. She really enjoyed having a cup she could take to school every day so she can take whatever beverage she chooses to school, and it will be cool until she eats her snack and lunch!

Overall, the myColdCup is an amazing product! It kept my children’s drinks cold for hours, the freeze sticks are small, yet effective, these cups can be personalized so my kids have put their own personal touch to it and change it every time they use them. Finally, these cups can also be used to carry warm drinks! All you have to do is not put the freeze stick in the top if the cap, and you can carry your favourite hot beverage with you on the go. I cannot wait to take myColdCups on our next outing with my kids!
