Dream. Dare. Discover. This month Hot Mommy!

KimothyKimothy Walker may not have been born in Ottawa, but she adopted it as her “hometown” as a teenager when her family moved to Ottawa, having graduated from Carleton University’s School of Journalism in 1991.

With more than half her life having worked for CTV Ottawa, and several awards under her belt, this adventurous spirit has become a hometown “Hot Mommy” in her own right. She swims, bikes, runs, does yoga, skis, hikes, YES she’s very active! When she has time to relax? BBQ!  Just recently she had a day off and acted put her status as:

Kimothy Walker

“had an amazing day with PC doing “nothing”…breakfast on the deck, lunch at Chelsea Pub, afternoon at Meech Beach, ice cream in Chelsea, Champlain Lookout, Remmick’s Rapids, and dinner on patio at Mill Street…”

Oh what the life! ( Kinda jealous 🙂 )

She is also a mom, to Kyra an equally sporty teenager, with University on her list and who is the apple of mom’s eye. (She lists volleyball and snowboarding to her favourites online, and hopes to one day throw the javelin at the Olympics! She went to the Eastern Ontario finals only 2 weeks after picking up the sport! Wow!)

This month, I chose to feature her as the “Hot Mommy” because of my immense respect for her, plus she’s a redhead (a little biased). She is as giving in her charity work as she is in her delivery of the news.  She infact scaled Mount Kilamanjaro, where she recently spread the ashes of a family member. This woman has it all and has done it all, to me anyhow. In her eyes? She probably has more on her lifes “bucketlist” including: scuba diving in the Honduras anyone?

Kimothy’s “final thought” to me for this profile?

“Kyra and I have a lot of talks about life as it’s just the two of us under one roof,. We have our own mantra, “Dream. Dare. Discover”. It’s how we live our lives with a good dose of gratitude and compassion. Everything is tied to that. For example, healthy bodies allow for the adventures that you dream of…you can dare to do things if you have a good foundation to launch you…and you can discover everything and anything is possible if you first dream and dare. I want her to live a life less ordinary, and I show her that’s possible. I take her on my travels sometimes, and when that’s not possible I involve her…for example, I texted her from the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro in February. I want her to live with passion, regardless of what she choses to do….”

WOW. What an amazing woman and mom!

I asked her what her “Must haves” were in her beauty routine. She listed –

moroccan oil for hair
NuNu deep conditioner
 apricot facial scrub

Reversa skin cream

Her 5 things in her purse at all times?

La Senza Peppermint Gloss

mascara “any mascara on sale”

  eye-lash curler
hand-sanitizer with aloe
