DIY Jack-O’-Lantern Felt Plush Supplies

This Jack-O’-Lantern project requires basic supplies like felt, scissors, thread and needle, and a pencil to create an adorable little friend that kids will love.

One thing about this project I love is that you can stuff it with cotton batting or balls, or you can make good use of your scrap felt and use that to fluff these little Felt Jack-O’-Lantern Plush with. To give the faces variety you can turn the eyes this way or that way to make them all look a little different, like a hand carved pumpkin, or sew them all the same way for a uniform look.

How To Make The Jack-O’-Lantern Felt Plush

  • Step 1: Select orange, black, pink, and green coloured felt fabric for the Jack-O’-Lantern plush craft. Trace the pumpkin bases on the orange felt, the stem on green felt, the blush circles on pink felt and the rest of the patterns on black felt. Cut out the traced patterns nicely.
  • Step 2: Place any one of the stem cutouts on the top middle part of a base cutout. Stitch the bottom overlapped part of the stem with the pumpkin base.
  • Step 3: Place the other stem on the back side of the stitched stem and stitch around the sides and top end of the stems to attach them, leave the bottom side intact for now. Place the other pumpkin base piece on the back side of the stitched base and make sure to bring the back side of the stem to the front of the back base piece. Now stitch the back stem with the back pumpkin base to join them.
  • Step 4: Flip the base to the front (in case you’re using orange felt for both sides you can select any one side as the front). Start attaching the face cut outs to the base piece.
  • Step 5: Complete the Jack-O’-Lantern face pattern.
  • Step 6: Stitch around the side of both base pieces with matching thread. Keep a small opening for stuffing.
  • Step 7: Stuff the felt pumpkin with cotton or scrap felt.
  • Step 8: Stitch the open end after the stuffing is complete. Tie a knot and cut off extra thread to complete the craft.
