Discovering new ideas and trying new things is what a new year is all about. DK Canada Books wants to help readers learn different ways to improve on a skill or to feel better about themselves. My family received three books to discover new ideas this new year. We were excited to see how these titles would make this year a great one!

Discovering a new way to recharge

One of the goals I created for myself this year is to take time for myself to recharge my mind and body. A great way to do this is by practicing yoga. Yoga for Women helps women to restore their vitality and  reduce their stress.

I love discovering this title’s “Relaxing and Energizing” section. On hectic days, the poses suggested are helping me to take time for myself and to allow myself to clear my mind. I feel renewed and ready to take on the rest of my day after practicing these poses.

Discovering new flavours

Another goal I have for my family this year is discovering new ideas for meals. We want to try different meatless dishes to tuck into. The ideas The Vegetarian Cookbook shares over 50 recipes that young readers can create and enjoy throughout the day.

There are so many recipes in this book for our family to try. I’m really happy that each of these recipes are not too difficult to put together and they look fresh and tasty. One recipe we will be discovering soon is the Pearl Barley Risotto. I like that this recipe swaps out rice for barley, and that this recipe is simple to prepare.

Learning new fun

A goal my daughter wants to achieve is to learn how to cook. She loves helping out in the kitchen, but wants to take the lead when preparing food. I’m happy to have the Kids’ Fun & Healthy Cookbook to help us in discovering new ideas for recipes she can handle putting together (with me to guide her).

My daughter has found her love for eggs, so she was excited to try this book’s Bake Ham and Eggs recipe. We were happy to see how the recipe was easily laid out and could be put together with a few simple steps. I also like how the instructions are in phots so you can see what each step looks like. My daughter is enthusiastic about getting in the kitchen to make these dishes!

Discovering new ideas for the New Year 

My family and I are happy to have these great new ways to discover new ideas to improve our lives from DK Canada. Yoga for Women is helping me to take time out to relax and renew myself. New recipe ideas will be added to our weekly meals with The Vegetarian Cookbook. My daughter can try  making new dishes in our kitchen with ideas from Kids’ Fun & Healthy Cookbook. Our new year is shaping up to b a great one, and these books from DK Canada are adding fun to it!
