Creating Magic is Fun with the Unicone Swirl Maker from Jakks Pacific

Magic. Children love believing it can be created and imagining they can make it. Unicorns are one of the sources of magic that continue to fascinate children. Jakks Pacific asked us if we wanted to create some magic by trying their Unicone Swirl Maker to create magical treats at home. I was really curious about this kit and could not wait for my kids to try it out.

The Unicone Swirl Maker allows for children to make their own chilled treats through the “magic” of a unicorn. Singular or multicoloured vanilla flavoured mousse style treats or creative snacks can be whipped up and served at home using the recipe cards included in this set.

I waited until the kids would be at home to test out this kit. A spark entered my kids’ eyes when they saw the Unicone Swirl Maker kit. Both of my kids are huge unicorn fans, and we were all intrigued as to how well this set was going to work. The cute and cheerful face of the unicorn made them smile and giggle. The bright and bold colours bring the spirit of this kit to life.

The kids and I made quick time in putting this kit together. The instructions were easy to follow and we were excited when all of the pieces were in place to start our mousse style treat adventure.

We decided to see how easy it would be for my kids to mix the chilled treat on their own. I read out the instructions and had them pour and mix the ingredients needed to make this treat. It was fun to see each of the colours of each of the mousses styled treats burst to life from the white powder.

Once chilled, I thought it would be a good idea for me to add the mousse style treat to the dispenser for the swirl maker. It got a bit messy, but it was a fun mess to create.

It was now time to see the Unicone Swirl Maker in action. After I placed the dispenser inside the unicorn’s head, the kids slowly pushed down on the pump to watch the magic happen. It took only a few moments to see the mousse style treat swirl out of the bottom of the unicorn. I finally understood the real funny part about this kit (Yes, it took me a while to catch on to this funny wink). It is as though you are making unicorn poop!

Both kids could not wait to taste the treat this Unicone Swirl Maker created. They each took a lick and thought it was a bit sweet but loved the texture of the snack they created. We then started thinking about what else we could create with this set. We will also use the other recipes for White Chocolate and Vanilla Mousse that were included in this kit.

Overall, my kids thought the whole process of the Unicorn Swirl Maker was fun! From assembly to consumption we had a blast making this “magical” treat. It was easy to follow the instructions to create this snack, and it was a real treat to watch them see it being dispensed from the unicorn. It was a fabulous way to spend a day off of school together.

I'm a huge sports fan, have a love of reading, and like experiencing new things whenever I can. I am now a mother of three children (11, 1 and 7 months old) and am kept constantly on my toes. My blog, Pieces of Me, is my way of sharing what I have enjoyed and encountered in my life so far as a mother. So far, being a mom has had it's expected ups and downs, but that's what makes being a parent so fulfilling for me. I've loved and learned from what's happened so far, and I can't wait to see what's in store for me next. I hope you enjoy the journey with me!
