Body Shop Review — New AND Bestselling Products and a Giveaway ~ Ottawa 06/29

| May 29, 2014 | 29 Comments

I love the Body Shop. My favourite product that makes me panic when I run out is:

Tea Tree Blemish Gel ($10.00) tea-tree-blemish-gel

When I had the opportunity to try out other “Best Sellers”, I jumped up and down like a schoolgirl given her parents credit card for back-to-school shopping!

The following items were what was given to me:

COCOA BODY BUTTER — 4/5

$20.00

$20.00

With the description stating it has a “chocolate scent”, as someone who grew up surrounded by chocolate (my grandfather worked at Laura Secord most of his life, and a mother addicted to chocolate) it honestly doesn’t smell like chocolate. Though it does have a pleasant smell to it. Promises to soften up to 24 hours, and that would be someone who continually uses moisturisers and creams (let’s face it, as a mom when do you have time to remember THAT on top of where and what your child is doing?). I found it to be quite supple and kept my skin quite soft.

$5.00

$5.00

VITAMIN E 3/5 (only because it’s hard to get me to continually remember to apply cream on my face)
I honestly do not religiously moisturise my skin, but this stuff was very quite light on my face, especially after washing.

$20.00

$20.00

ALOE BODY BUTTER 4/5 Not a fan of the sticky aloe plant, but seems to help, like I said, with sunburn.

I found this product quite helpful with sunburns. With the warning that you really “shouldn’t” put anything on top of sunburns, seeing it would really put a “coat” over top of it.

COCOA STICK 5/5

LOVE the scent and wasn’t resulting in a rash on my legs (as most creams do to my legs freshly shaved) At first it looks like a funky deodorant. I used it on my legs after shaving. WOW. They say it “melts at body temperature”, no kidding. Perfect also for stretch marks they say. I used it up and down my arms as well. Especially the underside. Smells great too.

$16.00

$16.00

PEPPERMINT FOOT LOTION 5/5

My son is obsessed with his feet. He sees dead skin and yup, you guessed it..gross. This cream is a wonder cream on feet. Since I started giving it to put on his feet when he starts to pick. No issues since. I used it on my VERY swollen feet back when I was pregnant, and it did the trick. Felt (finally) refreshed once I applied it.

$16.00

$16.00

“Deep Sleep Dreamy Pillow and Body Mist” 3/5

The product description states: Get your beauty rest with this quick-drying, super-snoozer mist that balances the senses and soothes the mind all night long.

How it works:
This funky “special encapsulation technology” will release the scent as you move around during sleep.

Ingredients Include: Jujube date (considered to promote “deeper sleep”), Camomile (which is calming, much like the tea), Geranium, juniper and patchouli oils.

My rating? Not bad. Doesn’t “stink” too much, though my husband wasn’t crazy about it if he walked into a room right after it was sprayed.

$23.00

$23.00

DAY CREAM — NUTRIGANICS 4/5

Again, I’m not a fan of creams on my face, but this stuff is also quite light. Product description states that it will “reduce fine lines, etc”.

$36.00

$36.00

NUTRIGANICS DROPS OF YOUTH 5/5

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION online:
This innovative concentrate helps to enhance surface skin condition, leaving it looking smoother, fresher and healthier.

I was told I would “love it”, I have to say. WOW. My skin normally feels very tight, especially after washing. And I do not like the texture, coloring after years of not really caring about sun damage. This stuff is soft, non-greasy, smells good. I am addicted. If I could, I would put this stuff on day and night. It’s hard to describe the difference I’ve noticed, but there is a difference for sure.
