I’m not the girliest of girls, but I really love having polish on my nails. Over the years I’ve amassed quite the collection of nail polish. My kids have gotten on board and ask to have their nails done all the time too. You can often find me sitting on the bathroom floor, patiently painting 40 little nails, and speeding up the drying process with the hair dryer. Sitting still long enough to let nail polish dry is HARD when you’re 3!
It’s always fun to see what the kids come up with too – they definitely don’t stick to one colour. We also do our nails for holidays. Soon we’ll be donning black and orange for Halloween and, in December, red, white, and green for Christmas. Whether you go for classic reds and pinks, or crazier colours like we usually do, nail polish is such a fun way to brighten things up. I love that it’s pretty easily changed – some nail polish remover and cotton pads, and a bit of scrubbing and you’re ready for another colour.
The Body Shop recently came out with a rainbow of colours for their new nail polish line, Colour Crush. I mean it when I say rainbow: there are 24 colours in all, from the light Pink Cream to the dark Smoky Rose. I got to try out 10 of them and I just might be putting the rest on my Christmas list! Here are the colours I received: the light pink in the middle is Frosting Fancy while the dark purpley-pink is Deeply In Love. Rosy Cheeks is a bright coral and A Grape Affair is a pastel purple. The two greens are The Body Shop Green and Hemp Over Heals. Relish The Moment is fire engine red – a must for anyone and everyone. Got The Blues is a pastel blue that is really nice and Minty Amour is a teal that I love. Big Smoke is a dark grey that is a great alternative to black when you want something dark that goes with everything. My biggest dilemma is chosing just one colour!
My personal favourite is Minty Amour which I promptly put on my finger nails after receiving the polish to review. My kids like to mix it up too so I got to see almost all the colours in action. This polish goes on smoothly and easily. The brush was a little shorter than I’m used to, but I found it easy to hold and control. The polish dried quickly, which is a big plus in my mind.
Colour Crush polish boasts a 100% vegan formula, is quick to dry, and has a high gloss finish. The Body Shop recommends a base coat, 2 coats of polish, and a top coat, which is how I usually apply my nail polish. For the kids, one coat did the trick. These retail for $6 and would make the perfect gift for your friend, sister, mom.. whoever!
Disclosure: I received the above mentioned books for review. All opinions are honest and my own.
