Rob’s Little Princess: Making Dress-Up More Fun ~ #Review and #Win a Dress! CAN 03/17

| February 17, 2014 | 54 Comments

Kids love playing dress-up.  My kids enjoy putting on outfits and using their imaginations to become someone totally different while they play.  My younger daughter will even wrap a blanket around her waist, pretending it is a dress, and start dancing around our living room whenever we play music at home.  Rob’s Little Princess allows for little girls to bring to life some of their fairytale fantasies by designing handmade clothing for little girls that can only be described as being fun and frilly.

Rob’s Little Princess has been making outfits, dresses, skirts, shirts, along with matching hair bands and hair pins since October, 2013.  They use material that is flame retardant and safe for children, so there is less worry for parents when their child is wearing their pieces.

When the outfit for my daughter was delivered to my door, I had to stifle my girlish squeals of delight because I could just imagine her reaction when she saw what she was going to get to play in.  My daughter got to review a Cinderella-themed dress.

For this dress, I was able to choose the material I wanted for the bodice. I had my choice of a knit crochet bodice,

or a fuzzy knit crochet bodice.

I chose the latter because I thought that my daughter would find it softer against her skin, and it would be less revealing.

I found that there were a few issues with the dress once I received it. The blue tulle at the top of the bodice was uneven, and the fluffy bodice was coming off on to anything it came into contact with.

I spoke with Rob’s Little Princess, and brought my issues to them. They were able to quickly adjust the tulle at the top of the dress.  I did not change the bodice of the dress. I was given the choice to have the bodice removed for the plain knit bodice, but then the dress would have to be remade from scratch.  It was not a huge problem to me. I felt that the look of the fuzzy knit crochet was better for the dress, but to avoid having bits of bodice everywhere, I would advice choosing the knit crochet bodice over its fuzzy counterpart.

Since my daughter loves dresses, I was not disappointed with her reaction to this outfit.  She was ecstatic!  She could not wait to for me to help her into this dress.  Once all dressed up, she was all but floating around the house, calling herself a princess.  The fit of the dress was perfect.  It was the right length, and the bodice was stretchy, so it allowed for a thin shirt to be worn underneath it.  It is one of her favourite things to wear!

I really liked this outfit.  This dress makes her feel special whenever she wears it, and it made us smile whenever we saw her having fun playing princess.

Besides having the issues with the dress, I had a really positive experience with Rob’s Little Princess.

They were able to address my concerns quickly and in a positive manner.  They also wanted a lot of information about my daughter in order to have the dress fit her properly without physically being measured.

If you are looking for a sweet dress-up outfit for your little girl to help her live out her imagination, then look to Rob’s Little Princess to make this happen.
