Online Shopping Made Simpler with Visa Checkout and $100 Visa GC Giveaway ~ CAN 05/12

| April 30, 2015 | 11 Comments

I have recently begun shopping more online. There are some items that I just cannot find in-store, or there are times that it is easier to find items I want by purchasing them in the comfort of my own home. Summer is quickly approaching, and I want to be ready for those rainy days when we cannot go out to play, or for staycation days when the family is together at home and we want to keep our kids occupied or to do crafts together. That is why I wanted to put together a Summertime Emergency Kit to allow for my kids to be creative, whether we are indoors or out in our backyard enjoying the sun. Since I would like to have a lot of items in order to keep this kit fresh,  this could take a few trips to the store in order to accomplish this feat. This is why I am happy that Visa Checkout and Staples helped me put together my family’s Summertime Emergency Kit to quickly and easily gather items so my kids will be more creative this summer!

Visa Checkout provided me with a $200 gift card to compile some amazing items from Staples this kit for my family.

My family then sat down and wrote out a list of items that we would like to have to make our Summertime Emergency Kit fun and imaginative.

Shopping online can be easy, but paying can sometimes take too much time and effort, leading me to abandon my online purchases. I was not surprised to learn that these abandonment rates have been as high as 70% on a desktop computer and even higher on smartphones (86%) and tablets (77%). (Source: eMarketer, Shopping Cart Abandonment: How Retailers are Using the Metric to Drive Better Results, February, 2014.) I was hoping that my online shopping experience would be better after using Visa Checkout.

Registering for Visa Checkout was easy! Here are the steps I had to do to sign up to this service:
1. Create a username and password.
2. Enter my payment and shipping information. (You only have to do this once)
3. Look for the Visa Checkout button when I’m shopping online, enter my username and password, and go!

You can also choose the “remember me” feature so your username will be automatically displayed, requiring only a password when signing in to Visa Checkout.

Another great feature about Visa Checkout is that Canadians can use this service on all of their devices (computer, laptop, tablet and smartphone) so they can go online shopping anywhere!
I also like that Visa Checkout provides shoppers a secure method to pay online with Visa’s advanced security tools and Zero Liability for consumers in case of fraud.

I then went to to pick out the items we wanted to put together our Kit. There were so many items to choose from. It was easy to find what I was looking for, and some of the suggestions provided helped to make our Kit even more fun!
When I get to the checkout section of a website, there are usually a lot of steps I have to go through to complete my purchase. Fir me, it become a little upsetting to have to fill out so much information on several pages. Signing up with Visa Checkout reduced all of these steps, making the checkout section on any site that uses Visa Checkout so easy! Since all of my billing and shipping details are stored in one place, all I have to do is click on the Visa Checkout button and verify that my order was correct.

Yes, that was it! I was expecting to go through a few more steps to complete my online purchase, but I was really surprised with how quick and easy Visa Checkout was! I was looking around the Confirmation Page to make sure I did not miss anything (I did not). It took less than a minute to complete my purchase. I then received my order from Staples the next day! I was really surprised and shocked at the speed my purchases were delivered to my home. Here are all of the items I ordered from Staples using Visa Checkout to create my family’s Summertime Emergency Kit. My kids will have a lot of fun making works of art this summer!

I am so glad I can also use Visa Checkout at many of my favourite Canadian online stores, with many more joining each month. For a full list, you can visit Visa Checkout.

From now through May 12, 2015, Canadians who use Visa Checkout on will receive $20 off when they spend $100! Visit Staples for more details!

I had an amazing experience using Visa Checkout! It was really quick and simple to use, and I liked not having to share my personal information more than once. I will definitely be using Visa Checkout to make my online purchases again.
