Please meet Mom who Blogs, Sarah. The Journeys of The Zoo is comprised of: Ed, Sarah, The Triplets; Alexander, Maximilian and Artemis, Aries the Cat and Reina and Phoenix the Dogs. In 2009, The Zoo grew with the addition of Triplets; Alexander, Maximilian and Artemis. Sadly, Alexander passed away. We travel a lot and when we’re not living the life of nomads, we reside in Ontario, Canada. We speak English, Spanish and French and love the words Acceptance, Compassion and Empathy. This is our Journey.
What is your favourite activity to do with your kid(s)?
I really enjoy going on family walks with the entire Zoo. It gives my husband and I a chance to get out of the house as we both work from home. I’m pretty sure that the kids favourite activity is playing with their Thomas the Train table or putting toys down the register.
What are your Blogs name and what do you Blog about?
Journeys of The Zoo blogs about Family Life, Loss and Everything in between including Reviews and Giveaways all with a side of “Finding Humour in the Ordinary”!
Why did you start your Blogs?
Journeys of The Zoo began in 2010 as a way to update Family (both sides live in Toronto) on all the happenings of The Zoo. In the Spring of 2012, we added Reviews and Giveaways to the mix.
What tips/advice can you give to moms that would like to start their own Blog?
Write about what you know. Get into a routine and be consistent even if that means blogging once a month. Don’t worry about what you’re “supposed to do”. People break the rules all the time. Have fun!
Sadly, with a litter of kids and a blog of my own, I don’t have as much time as I’d like for myself. Reading blogs + go to the washroom = Me time + Lack there of. However, The Animated Woman is pretty cool (and Canadian), especially because she draws pictures of one of the few blogs that I have time to follow on a regular basis, Yeah Good Times (http://www.theanimatedwoman.com/2011/03/you-jillsmo.html), Watch out though as Jillsmo has been known to have a potty mouth.
What is the biggest challenge you encounter when blogging?
Coming up with content that I want to post. I find it hard to slap just anything up there (although if you read my blog, you might not agree, smile).
What is the best part about blogging?
Connecting, sharing, existing besides just changing diapers and cleaning up playdoh. Even though at times it appears (and maybe is) only one sided.
Thank you Sarah!
